    These videos are fascinating, and I empathize a lot. I was “trapped” teaching for 5 years, but used the opportunity to study in my free time. Now I am doing a phd in an exciting field at the university I was teaching in. When you are just teaching it’s like staring into the abyss. I had to switch on all my survival instincts and find a way to make the future happen. My faith in Jesus was also helpful. God bless

    Girl it’s time to move back lol
    My wife and I lived in Korea for 4 years and just recently moved back to America
    And yah I lived like a king compared to here
    We’re planning to return to Asia
    Nothing beats free rent, low bills, etc.

      @@NneniaYasmeen We’re thinking Japan next, since Japan is an hour away from Korea we visited Japan a lot and fell in love with it
      It’s also about new experiences for us
      As much as we love Korea we wanna keep traveling
      Even in Korea we lived 2 years in Seoul and 2 in Jeju Island
      So the adventure is part of it
      And we can’t really do that here in America with these sky high bills and living costs

    Hi Nnenia!! I moved to Taiwan last September and I love it here! Before moving I found your channel and I really appreciate you sharing your experiences on CZcams because it helped me build up the confidence to move here.
    Everything you mentioned about living in the states is soooooo true! I love my home (Florida) but it’s so affordable in Taiwan and it makes me not want to live in the states!
    Thank you so much for sharing this video as you’ve inspired me to share my experiences while living here so people can see what it’s like for another black woman/black couple to thrive in this beautiful country.
    Wish you and your family well and again thank you for sharing! 🤎🤎

    I was literally just thinking about your channel the other day! It’s nice to see your face on my feed again. I’m getting reading to move back to the U.S. after living in South Korea for 2 years. I don’t see myself living in the U.S. long term though because I don’t want to work so hard for a sh*tty quality of life. In SK I can have next to no money and still do a few activities and have fun.

      How was South Korea?? Last we checked in you were getting ready to move there. Time flies! & also those feelings are super valid. It hasn’t been all bad since coming back but the job & housing market are insane right now on top of economy. You got this though!

      @@NneniaYasmeen Korea was good. It had it's highs and it's lows, but overall an experience I enjoyed, didn't regret, and would even do again. I actually visited Taipei for a week and it was good vibe, reminded me a lot of SK, but more chill. And the economy in the states is very frightening.

      @@yanie3000 Nice! I've heard great things about South Korea and watched a bunch of creators on here that teach & live there. Lol & girl America is America. You'll be fine though. Let me know if you're ever in the NJ/ NYC area & we can connect. Best of luck to you! 💞

    Thank you for sharing your experience, I can definitely relate to the stress of switching careers and figuring out where to live. I think of going back to the US for the opportunities, but the cost of living can add so much uncertainty as well. Hope you guys find a balance!

    This is why I wonder why so many people want to live in USA. I'm a freelancer working for an American company making around $2800 USD a month and this allows me to live very comfortably in Jamaica. I know that this would be nothing if I lived in the US

    • @NneniaYasmeen
      @NneniaYasmeen  Před 10 měsíci

      That's awesome! Do you work full time with the company? I've tried freelancing here and there but it was too inconsistent. I also could've put more time into it though.

    How was experiencing racism in Taiwan? I'm in Thailand and I experience some racism, but its not quite like at home in the US. Do you believe that poc can lead happier lives more so living abroad or in the US?

    • @NneniaYasmeen
      @NneniaYasmeen  Před 5 měsíci

      I personally only had one blatant racist experience in Taiwan. I've heard incidences from other expats but it's a rare occurrence. I think it's up to the person to decide what makes them happy. I think that can be found in either the US or abroad for poc.. just depends.
