Why Are There SO MANY Finding Nemo Ripoffs?

- Out of all of Pixar's movies, Finding Nemo gets ripped off the most. There are DOZENS of clones. Why is this the case? Why do so many people target Finding Nemo in particular and not the rest of Pixar's library?

To be fair, almost all of Disney's biggest properties were stolen. The vast majority of their original films were simply retellings of fairy tales and then movies that weren't were either suspiciously similar to pre-existing stories or outright, obvious knockoffs (Kimba the White Lion -> The Lion King).
Disney just has better lawyers and more money to throw at polish.

Shark Tale isn't a Finding Nemo ripoff. According to Jeffrey Katzenberg, Shark Tale had already entered production by the time Finding Nemo was released. The storyline is also completely different. Not sure if I can defend the other 'ripoffs' as I've never seen them before. But I can certainly defend Shark Tale for the reasons I provided.

Saber spark: *Shows clips of A Turtle's Tale and mentions it.*
Me: "Um.... I see where you're coming from but no."
Lol yes
Hell yes
First off, shark tale is not a rip off of finding nemo. Its a completely different story, that would make the same amounts sense if it was with humans. Nemo wouldn't
I think the reason why people call it a ripoff is because Shark Tale came out only a year or so after Finding Nemo, as well as the biting rivalry between Disney and Dreamworks at the time.
But plot-wise, it isn't a ripoff.
That’s the thing, they could be humans but they’re fish. Why are they fish? That’s right! Because Nemo came out a year prior.
But that’s just a theory
They're fish because someone said, "Hey, here's an idea, why don't we make a movie where loan sharks are the antagonists, but we also make them literal sharks!"
@@AmberCommentsThings I feel like such a comparison would be like calling DC and Marvel movies ripoffs of each other, and not many ever really do even though the plotlines tend to be way more similar.

TurtleTale was a part of my 8-year old life, and my whole family watched it more than once
Dannielle Stewart My Dad the same thing, but was just better and could find loads of legit films.
Dewi Shinta P They were legit though, and I remember they were pretty good. Granted, I haven’t seen Cars 2 since it came out, and I haven’t seen Cars in about 5 years, but I remember they were both pretty good. Cars 2 had a cooler setting, but more bad or weird bits. Cars 1 was the better film.
The Reef/Sharkbait and A Turtle Tale were literally my favourite movies to talk about when I was 4-5. My mom and I would draw the main characters on paper, cut them out, and roleplay. Fun times.
Another thing is that the net scene at 10:12 wasn't as clean as it is here. I watched the movie with *baaad* quality. The movie looked like some green paper was wrapped around it. So the entire net scene looked like a fucking. Nightmare. Fuel. Like the lighting looked like it was out of a horror movie, lol.
9:19 "Or is it his porpus" **laughs** **cries** I WANNA DIE"
Saberspark: turtles tale is to dusturbing for children
Finding nemo: all of the fish eggs get eaten and the mom dies
Padak: Allow me to introduce myself
@@vengefulbale Nah there’s no way Padak is for children
Padak is “Oh my god... WTF?”
Not ALL of the fish eggs get eaten, one survived.
I dont think turtles tale is a rip off its quite original and pretty good
I still can’t look at fish movies like these after watching Padak.
Now that's sad
More like absolutely terrifying
That is the only Finding Nemo ripoff I have seen. I was thinking of that when watching this video.
17:00 Reminds me of an obscure film series that features similar looking submarines like those and around the early 2010’s or so, I saw the cover for that film, but I just can’t quite figure what the title is.
I just remembered. It was Dive, Ollie, Dive.
That intro just set my brain on fire in only 2 seconds
“What If we did Disney, but not”
“You get promoted”
excuse me, finding nemo walked so Shark Tale could swim
Agreed 👏
1:01 based on a true story (little Billy is me and it was a videogame and not a movie)
