      @@maccentric Really? Organize your screws in the order you took them out. Reverse the process.
      OR, you can just review ( watch backwards ) and see which screws he took out where, and orginize your screws that way,
      I am at the place he is, but with my screws in a row.
      4 plate screws, 5 bottom case screws, etc...

    On 23:20 when he removes the DC cable, check that the last part that he removes is laying under a plastic insulation tape. If you forget to put it back your motherboard get damaged by the metallic part on the dc cable that will touch the motherboard and short it out... be careful with that, I had many customers come with a destroyed laptop just for cleaning.

    Very well done! Thank You! I am replacing my fans, (Recommend if I may), Clear Taping screws next to holes they were removed from for easier reassembly for extreme novices.

    Great video! Thank you!
    I used this as my guide to disassemble and repaste my laptop. Those lights on the side were really fickle. Kinda janky way to add lighting but whatever - go Dell.

    I have the 15 R4 and I sent it for a battery replacement. It came back fine but one of the RGB lines on the chasis on the sides refused to change color whereas the rest did.
    Any idea what could have gone wrong?
    I opened the laptop myself and the cover and refit it but no change. Any advice would be helpful.

    I don't know if yall will see this but I've got the same exact computer but my display pins are busted and I know I need to replace the motherboard, do yall do repairs by any chance or is it only repair to sell later? I don't have any good repair shop around me and I'm willing to pay for it, not asking for it to be fixed for free

    Hey man. Noticed your video and was wondering if you could help me locate r5 display cables because mine has a gray screen issue but on hdmi works. So i probably think the display has gotten damage and i have to replace it. Let me know. Thanks

    • @Sellbrokedotcom

      eBay.... but you should get the part number off of yours first, usually a label stuck where the video cable connects to the motherboard.

    My fans sound like they are hitting something but spin fine whne I take back off and spin it my self so can you explain why it would do that and idk how to take it out to see the where the air comes out idk why the fans sound like they are scratching

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  Před 3 lety

      Sometimes the buzzing sound is made internally where the bearings or Maglev air spacing is. Its hard to spin it fast enough to replicate the sound it makes when it's running. May be time to replace it.

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  Před 3 lety +1

      Sorry it is integrated into the palmrest, which is the main structural component for all the parts to attach to. You will basically need to disassemble the entire unit to replace the palmrest. You may be able to find individual keys/connectors to fix yours though, try eBay.

    • @JP-cw3zo
      @JP-cw3zo Před 3 lety +2

      Yes, you can. Once you follow the video and got the palm rest assembly removed. There are screws around the keyboard support backplate, remove those. Once the support plate is removed, there are screws holding the keyboard and the hotkeys (those are 2 separate boards) to the palm rest, remove those screws and you can swap the new keyboard in.

    I have now a problem with my Alienware 17 r5 ... Yesterday Dell Support Assist and said there is a drive issues so I updated it from Dell Support Assist. after finishing the laptop got heavy and the D HHD Drive disappeared... I tried multiple solutions but no one worked for me such as :
    1- I saw Disk Management to solve the problem but the D disk and all its partition are not there
    2- I contacted windows support team and they couldn't help me
    3- I checked the BIOS settings but they were fine
    4- I reinstalled Windows 10 again ( D drive appeared for 5 minutes and then disappeared again )
    5- I disassembled the D drive from the laptop and connected it again to make sure it's not a plugin problem
    6- I ran the diagnostics but nothing showed up
    All these methods did not work for me... could you please help me fixing it?

      @Deathman271 Před 3 měsíci

      I've ran into a similar issue with that as well, but have not done an in depth diagnostics on it.
      What I do know is that with the hard drive aspect I have used the brief window to save any important files before formatting it, and after the format it seems to be somewhat stable enough after a restart. Other than that I'm pretty much in the same boat as you.
