Realised I was big dumb and forgot to mention why I switched from the M1 🙃 Basically; some people are wondering if the M1 is linked to the broken great ones. Not sure how this would be or why but I have switched to the .303 just in case/to be on the safe side.

I'm sorry that you encountered the same situation as me. I remember feeling excited and confused at the same time when I first encountered it. And after that it was sad that it wasn't the one who shot it. However, keep trying to find it. 👍
It would be super nuts if the dead great ones are where other players made a nv hit an other players have the chance to pick them up when they eventually expire. Which of course you would have to be online. But this theory is highly unlikely.

A pity, but I wonder if your shooting that Level 9 somehow caused the GO to spawn in dead. KC's seems to have been a fresh spawn. Very strange. No doubt you will get yours soon!

It really definitely does suck! Yeah I have no idea why yours was a common- though you do now have a pretty exclusive one if they’re meant to spawn as fabled!
Makes me wonder if these dead ones spawn after killing another stag. Like in a certain radius. When the stag you shoot drops the great one drops somewhere almost as if they’re tied together or something? Who knows. It’s so strange.
I might be pushing it but... I wonder if you shoot it on the ground if it would register as a vital hit😂? They might bug out a second time and register the shot??? Anyways, Congratulations and I know you can get the Second one! You got this!
i got super lucky about 3 days before red deer tru racks came out i shot a max weight max score (274) legacy racks red deer on curato in multiplayer and then the first day of tru racks i went onto my hirschfelden map and the first red deer i see is a lvl 9 big rack which scored 264.6
Thankfully not! Yeah trust me man I was super bummed. Like to the point of being emotional. I recorded this like the day after so I wasn’t sounding tearful lol. From what it seems now, this *should* have been a legit, alive, perfectly normal GO. So I’m glad I kept it, he’s with my collection of broken WT GOs as a wall mount, (two of my WT GOs became rares with the update to try and fix the fur types, so I just have the antlers on display so you can’t see the glitched fur types) because hey I grinded it and I should’ve gotten chance to shoot him but there was a bad bug!
Why even claim it? And you knew this? It would have respawn... and IF they fix this it will spawn alive, and you would know that you had a great one just waiting... If I come across one Dead One I will not claim it, I have deleted all the mission animals (Except the Mocha Moose and Fantasia wolf) because it was served to me on a platter.
Actually they’ve changed it so dead animals DO NOT respawn as the same animal and now respawn as a new random spawn , so if I hadn’t claimed it, it would have been gone permanently and would have lost out on a GO entirely it now seems. And yes, I was aware of the bug being a possibility but you hope it won’t happen when you see live ones posted too.
Unfortunately this was way before any suspicion was placed on Apex connect causing the issue, so no one knew (including me!) that a fix may have been possible.

The hit info for the last red deer you killed before the great one is the same as the great one. It's the same distance and weapon score.

Nope, single player. It was a bug that happened to great one red deer spawns when they first released for a week or so.

No I already got 2 both were dead like yours all I did was turn off apex connect restart my console and go to the spot where they were dead
