    Tip on telling which side is the right side of paper to print on: As a general rule, if you pinch the paper with damp fingers, the correct side will stick to your finger.

    Before we buy any supplies, we check on Angie's site first to get her recommendation. We thought we would trip Hiipoo sublimation paper to go with the Hiipoo sublimation ink recommended. We definitely prefer the A-Sub paper over the Hiipoo sublimation paper. The issue is when trying to trim the paper. Using the Circuit trimmer, the Hiipoo sublimation paper will "catch" and not cut a clean line. The A-Sub paper cuts well with the trimmer every time. (Note: the blade is new too). For us, we will stick with the A-Sub paper and with any of Angie's recommendations!

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 2 lety

      I use both of that and the Hiipoo paper is definitely tricky to cut with a paper trimmer! I have noticed that as well!

    • @lynnebizlyne436
      @lynnebizlyne436 Před 2 lety

      I too found that using the Circuit trimmer with Laser paper (using infusible ink) also catches and does not cut a clean line, as well as the printable vinyl. Yes it has a brand new blade in it so I am not sure why it only cuts regular copy paper ok. I found my cheaper Office Depot Carl brand trimmer cuts way better.

      We have an Epson WF 7110 with Cobra Inks & use Dyemaster as our go to sublimation paper. Colors are much more vibrant with deep rich blacks compared to all other major brands we have tested including Texprint especially on mugs. Despite the paper not having a watermarked side, you can tell from the feel & color of the paper which is the correct side to print on. Dyemaster provides just the best results we have ever gotten out of any other sublimation paper at a great price.

    Thanks for this video Angie! ASub comes in 125g and 120g. I see you are using the 125g. Do you know the difference? I know 120g is thinner but curious why there are two different weights.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 3 lety +1

      I could probably use a lower weight but I don't do enough sublimation printing to keep all of the weights. The difference is going to be in how color saturated your image is, the humidity at the time, and how fast your printer prints. I am finding I can use the 125 all of the time and not have issues. Which works for me. The lighter weight is probably less money as well. So, if you have prints that are not as color saturated, trying a lighter weight is not a bad idea.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 2 lety +4

      Here is a brief explanatino:
      A-Sub 105g - best for designs that have light to medium ink saturation.
      A-Sub 120g - best for medium to slightly heavy-saturated ink designs
      A-Sub 125g - best for when you print designs that have very heavy ink saturation.
      I tend to have both 120 and 125 here on hand.

      If it is your first print, I would print like 5 more sheets then press the 6th. Make sure you are pressing on polyester as well.

      Sublimation paper will not work in an inkjet printer that has regular ink installed. You need sublimation ink.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před rokem

    • @mariacalo1970
      @mariacalo1970 Před rokem +1

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před rokem

      The purple is showing through your design first and altering your colors. With the 50/50 content, only 50% of your ink is bonding to the shirt. That means it will be faded.

    I'm using A-Sub 120g &125g with subzone sub ink epson Waf-7720 & heat press set on 400 for 60sec & using 65% polyester color shirts bleached white in middle & Some reason my image is faded on my shirt once pressed & theres still a good image left on my sub paper. Obviously half the ink is staying in the sub paper. Any suggestions?

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 3 lety

      It could be the shirt. Remember that only 65% of your image will transfer as it will only react to polyester fibers.

      @@AngieHolden Yeah I just did it on a white 100% polyester fabric & still almost the full image is still left on the sub paper. It is a little faded but seems a little to much stayed on the sub paper. I did however go up from 400 degrees on my heat press to 420 & then raised my time from 60 to 65 seconds & my image on the shirt got alot better now but still leaving alot on sub paper. I think my heatpress isnt getting as hot as its saying. This is becoming a headache.
