Canada wins in this situation and the USMNT goes into a home world cup with a mediocre MLS coach with no attacking grit.

A good move by Canada. That decision to bring Greg back looks a little worse now, especially if we don't do well in the Copa America this summer

Yeah all Greg does is win. What a loser.

Except he has the worst losing percentage in away games, only plays concacaf teams. And is a wife beater and a Dbag.@@strawman6085

Soccer Canada has badly needed brand new leadership on their Board & a new Canada Soccer general secretary and CEO, named Kevin Blue.
He has wasted no time, arranging upcoming Friendlies versus the Netherlands & France before playing in the Copa Americas vs Argentina, Peru & Chili. So that has been impressive!
Now he has hired Jesse Marsch, so Canada can move forward positively now.
Another American who was considered for the Canadian coaching job was former Toronto FC head coach Bob Bradley. Greg Vanney was also mentioned as a potential.
Other potentials were Mauro Biello, the temporary coach, after Herdman went to Toronto FC.
Thierry Henry was on the list. Not sure how serious that was.
Experienced Canadian coach Bobby Smryrniotis was in the running.
Liverpool born Canadian Tommy Wheeldon Jr. was also considered.
Others interviewed included Thomas Christiansen, Wilfried Nancy, Pa-Modou Kah & Toronto FC assistant coach Peter Galindo.
I believe about 75% of Canadians will be pleased with Marsch, if he helps this team improve, but most would have preferred a Canadian. The other 25 % of fans honestly didn't want an American, given the typical rivalry between our countries in sports (i.e. soccer in the Qualifiers in 2022, hockey & more recently basketball & believe it or not, curling 😁, which is popular in Canada etc...).
Most Canadian fans feel that Marsch's aggressive press style of coaching will be a perfect fit for our talented young group of forwards. He also has shown to be very good at coaching young players & Canada has recently transitioned away from their older players & we may now have the youngest team in the Copa Americas tournament. Your listeners are most likely familiar with our young very talented forwards, Alphonso Davies, Jonathan David & Tajon Buchanan; but Canada also has a number of talented young players who your fans would probably not be too familiar with (i e. Ismael Kone, Jacen Russell-Rowe, Ali Ahmed, Moïse Bombito, Mathieu Choinière, Jacob Shaffelburg, Dayne St. Claire, Jonathan Sirois & Luc De Fougerolles etc..., to name several), so Marsch's capability of communicating & coaching a very young team is a critical component of this coaching job.
The main concern for Canadian fans will be the flexibility that Marsch hopefully will display, when playing versus the top teams in the world. Will Jesse only have the team play that press style, as he usually does, or will the team have the possibility of changing it up & playing a Block & counter attack style, when required? This will be very important going forward!
I do think that the fans will be patient in their next 3 games (Netherlands, France & Argentina); but there will be a fair amount of expection to beat, or at the very least, play well versus Peru & Chili in the Copa Americas 1st round.
Either way, it should be an exciting year & next 2 years for the Canadian soccer fans & team. I personally can't wait for the next U.S. vs Canada match with Jesse vs Berhalter... Great drama!!! 😁

I agree with Mosy most of the time, but his take on Brazil is borderline pathetic. He named the Brazil squad along with the names of the teams they play in. Good lord, they’re elite!

That's what I'm saying, I'm hearing people say that Brazil is the favorite to win Copa America, and I'm like no they've been terrible since the world cup.

How do you have a conversation about famous USMNT calls and not mention Ian Darke?!

You guys mentioned about Detroit city FC accomplishment in USOC but not about NYCFC 2, why ?

#AskAlexi Why haven't we seen any coverage on the US Open Cup? You would think with all the uproar about how MLS tried to not participate in the event they would have talked about Houston Dynamo losing to Detroit FC. The big underdog story happened and not a peep from Alexi.

Mexico needed to do that right after the WC maybe even since tata arrived. FEMEXFUT wants Lozano to fail in Copa America so they can have an excuse to kick him out 😆. Almada should be Mexico's next coach although just because they're WC hosts they want a world renowned coach like that's gonna be the solution 😂

A 'GOOD' story is a Canadian coaching Canada. Canada deserves better than Marsch. The story shouldn't be what is best for Jesse. Typical American response.
