Commentary by Levy is Amazing. Just watching Levy explain exactly the rest of the game at 13:33 I realized Levy really is the best commentator I've ever seen, read, or heard in the Highest Levels of Chess

The 3-0 against Alireza in the Generation Cup was really something. Magnus without food poisoning is truly on an entirely different level.

I was just thinking the same thing, that how can I watch chess wile working 😂😂
And I think world best colour is brilliant blue.
That is why Magnus is so good at end games, because he took Levy's end games master class.
For legal reasons he cannot prove this
@@-mvpHe can't, but we can
Fans can always use one of the new AI applications to create an audio where Magnus admits to that 😂.
Using statistical analysis of magnus end games, I can confirm he did take Levy's end games master class.
"you too can play chess like me"
Levy took the time out of his day to let us know he’s handsome. Truly an amazing man!

Can we take a moment to appreciate how well Magnus plays just so Levy can make content for us ❤

I feel lucky to be passionate about chess in a time where Carlsen is in his prime
The most insane thing is this isn’t even Magnus at his peak
This is not his peak form, imagine Magnus in 2020 - 2021. He was truly monster destroying anyone world no. 2, world no. 3 .... Like they are nothing
Only 3600 elo to reach Magnus 🔥💪
It's only +3600elo bro you can do it it's ez plz lemon squizy
dude ! you're breathing down his neck
Only 2240 to reach Magnus 🔥💪
Only 4000 elo to reach Magnus 🔥💪
Im only 2400 elo away
The fact that his opponents were playing extremely well and he still destroyed them. The eval bar wasn’t moving but Magnus saw it all, even further than the engine 😂
yes
yes they played really well but the eval bar only shows the winning chances against a bot, which is very different to playing against a human
That's what I imply in my comment. Magnus is seeing things the engine doesn't really care about. positional moves that push his opponents outside their comfort zone etc. He slowly pushed them into a position where they were almost guaranteed to make a mistake.@@Davinmk
um no not really. the eval bar started moving down not because the eval bar failed to see ahead, but because magnus's opponent failed to play perfect moves.
Magnus also often played 2nd or 3rd best moves. But he played them in such a way to put pressure on his opponents. The perfect move isn't always the best move because of this. More tense positions allow the better player to outplay their opponent where stockfish would evaluate it a draw, no matter the flavor of the position. Magnus is a master at bringing games to positions where he can pressure his opponent without playing suboptimal moves. That is why he was world champ for so long.@@ade8890
Really nice of Levy to give attention to small chess players like this Mango guy.

Levi: His time advantage is bigger than the amount of time that Fabiano has left on the clock! :0
Good lord almighty, been following chess since late 60s, lived through and loved the whole Bobby Fischer era, but Magnus seems to be on a different plane -this guy is something we've never seen before, I'm grateful to be around to see this.
This is truly one of the moments in chess history.

I don’t even like playing chess, I just watch because the storylines are interesting and levy is a top tier storyteller.
I'm sorry, but you're not allowed to watch chess videos if you're not a chess player. So get out! 👉
@@perpetualbystander4516💀📸
@@perpetualbystander4516 someone who understands chess can watch it regardless of if they are a chess player or not
What storylines are interesting? Magnus is gonna win again easily. 3-0 and made the guy quit chess for fashion
Same here. Great communicator + so handsome omg
His turnaround against alireza blew my mind, completely reversed the advantage
It was the classic call an ambulance but not for me
Can we all appreciate how Levy never milks Magnus for content and has so many other series focusing on top grandmasters.
To bed fair, I watch every Magnus video. 100% guaranteed.
That was the cleanest transition going from Magnus involved in mafia to rats being smarter than half of Americans
Levy: Can you even watch a chess video without seeing it?
Also Levy: Probably will crush 99.9% of the people watching this video blindfolded.
Can we appreciate that we appreciate him so much
WE MAKING IT INTO 4000 ELO WITH THIS ONE 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Really loved the part where magnus reached 4000 elo. Truly one of the most impactful moments in chess history.
Levy always fails to disappoint us, what a guy
I feel quite appointed tbh
I read this the wrong way
You're evil
this comment is a mental fork
Thank you Gotham. Ever since I started watching you 2 months ago I learned some openings and went from 500 Elo to 700.
Thank you
Once it was raining and that made me sad. But then I watched Gothamchess, and it made it so much more bearable. Thank you Gothamchess!!!! ❤
I assume those facts are unrelated.
Levy : I'm still very handsome
me: Bro, you're not very handsome You _very very very
Levy never fails to make me sit on a chess board and play with myself.
👀
What?😭
That's a good practice I think
bro what 💀
Ayo 😂
“The ledge on the shower” had me in pieces. I watch it while my toddler falls asleep, by now one of the most Zen moments of my day.
0:10 "I'm still handsome." TRUE
Maybe I never noticed before but I love that the chess board changed colors when you were discussing theory and changed back when we were back in the game. Makes it easier for me to follow.
Magnus playing chess really is amazing so much foresight and understanding is just insane
That is the best magnus thumbnail so far....
“1.e4, and he wins.” Had me cracking up😭😂
magnus truly is a chess player
Firouzja punching Magnus for 30 moves
Magnus: "that's all you got George?"

I’m waiting eagerly for your book here in Brazil. After many of your videos and some of your courses you got me from 700 to 1100 and up!

Levy is the type of guy to grow up to be a great grandad
Levy’s confidence is unmatched.
i love that levy makes sure we are aware of the date of recording
Can we take a moment to appreciate that levy covers games of small players like magnus..
Such a humble man
Levi never fails to disappoint us 😂
I know right, very comfortable, breathable... All around great shoes
The last game there against Alireza- that was... incredible. Yes we love these Magnus videos. Please keep them coming. Perhaps showing how people beat him as well, where he goes wrong, that would also be instructive. For example Fabiano beat him in one rapid game recently. How did he do it?
That last game was CRAZY
Been following Magnus' career since the 2013 Candidates. I can honestly say that I haven't seen domination like this from him in a very long time. Effortless really is the word. The man is so in tune with the game it's actually touchingly beautiful to watch sometimes.
Can we Appriciate how other worldly magnus played that game
Hikaru was just talking about this in his latest video on Magnus. How Magnus has an extremely deep understanding for where pawns should be positioned and how he knows exactly how to punish pawn structures that are inaccurate. So that pawn on g5 (in the Amin game) and the way that knight was jumping around on the kingside was a true testament to that.
edit: Ahh Hikaru actually made the comment while recapping that Firouzja game. It was about that early h5 move
You gotta respect a man like Levy, makes a split second mistake that could be edited out but decides to leave it
Levi never fails to make me play with myself
Ayo
Can we just appreciate how Levy never clickbaits us
17:00 congratulations magnus 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I literally unbox and install cabinetry listening to your videos and I love it, although right now I'm eating dinner and paying attention for once lol

nothing like watching Gotham before my game to reach 800 and getting it in a literal flawless game watching these actually inspires me for wins lmao
Great analysis of Maestro Magnus. Thanks for the U.K. link Levy. I ordered your great book! Cheers!
Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that levy never uses clickbaity titles or thumbnails.

From 2025
From someone about 1000 ELO it's fun to listen to you without watching the board as I miss much of the deeper ideas anyway, the broad sweeps and things to pick up are usually said in your commentary so it's super fun to listen even if I can't watch. It's almost a podcast!
I love Gotham’s videos so much, they always make my days better
Can we take a moment to appreciate how gotham never fails to make our days worse ❤️
Anyone in 2024?
At this point, if I were to play against Magnes the best thing that I can make happen is a queen trade and then get checkmated by 2 rooks (laddermate)💀

Just pre ordered the book, cant wait to read it!
I play occasionally, but you make me enjoy and understand high level of chess. Love your videos! Greetings from Arg 🇦🇷
I genuinely love listening to your commentary while I am coding. The cheat code is having three screens so I can peak over at the board every once in a while.
Now Magnus has become a deity
I watch your chess videos without the chessboard but not because I'm a genius that can envision the board throughout the game but because I just love your commentary THAT MUCH ❤
8:30 - 9:20
honestly this whole tangent is just gold from beginning to end
Beautiful, Satisfaction, Peak of Defending and Attacking, sweet and sour positioning, pleasuring video, thank you Levi for this video you made my day
"Let's see how Magnus gets it done, all across the board" lol good unintended double entendre
i love how quick you make videos, recorded and posted same day.
"This bishop is dead"
Still can't stop laughing 🤣
You make chess as dramatic as it is for anyone watching!! Thank you!!
Thank you for changing color for hypothetical play
Helps me follow so much better
You’re awesome btw!
i leaved i like in the openning of the video because it was just so good and hyped me so much
i was optimizing my voxel mesher and this guy in the background says "watch me while you code"

The thumbnail is epic. Magnus really does resemble the look of hemsworth's thor.
0:10 Levy will never change
Love these videos. Highest level chess is so interesting.
Great breakdowns!
Those two things we appreciate
Stockfish when he sees you're playing magnus: "The only winning move is not to play".
I Love how Levy never clickbaits
