Hey man, was wondering if you had any crazy awards that you think may have helped u getting into these competitive cs schools. I’m applying for cs this year and have a strong grades and solid ecs, but don’t have any serious awards.
What research did you end up doing if you would not mind sharing?
congratulations! just curious, which school would you have decided on attending if you didn't get into yale? :)
georgia tech! was actually a super close call between the two, i spent a few weeks deciding between them
Insane
Can you do a video on what credentials you gathered to apply for these colleges?
Wow what a coincidence. I just read your Reddit post today then I come across this video

Did you get financial aid for Yale or do you have to take out loans? I'm considering only applying to my instate schools because I don't qualify for any aid.
if you don't qualify for any aid then you'll be taking out considerable amount of loans. If you don't care about that then just apply to any school you were planning on. Why do you think you'll get no aid?
@@YyNRCyY my family is upper middle class, and all of the aid calculators show us paying full tuition which we can't afford
Congrats!! You look so young btw..
ill take that as a compliment :D
just curious did you ever get your financial aid for Georgie tech? if so do you remember how much you would have paid a year

Comp sci is a waste of time.
Boot up the pc and you can learn it on your own.
That being said, you are nothing more than tuition and fees to pay for university salaries. LOL.
I'm gonna type out a real response to this; well yeah...you can learn CS on your own? That applies to a lot of things. But a college experience is more than just taking the basic breadth classes--you'll learn a more grounded CS theory, you can participate in novel research, get access to networking, makes getting job interviews easier (though for the actual job, leetcode is a must either way lol), you gain more initial experience, find niche intersections between CS and other fields you enjoy, and also it's just more fun imo. Not saying that you can't do all of these things on your own but college helps with that. This is also one of the reasons I chose Yale, I think a liberal arts education may provide a more unique outlook on tech and other careers, and the diverse community at Yale is something I'll look forward to as well :) Yes, CS tends to be a bit more meritocratic than other fields, but a college experience & degree is still valuable.
@@anikethmalyala1 Yale is not the Yale of old. Do yourself a favor and Google "the Yale Shrieking Girl", and watch the video.
The intellectual caliber of student that gets into Yale, in order to check a diversity checkbox, is shocking low.
The unintended consequences of lowering the caliber of the student body is that the professor can no longer teach the difficult topics at as high of a level as he might like, or in the worse case, some classes are no longer even offered.
Of course, if you have a free ride scholarship and everything is paid for, then why not? Enjoy the ride.
I don't really understand why you're trying to generalize an entire college to one student? You can find case by case examples like that for any college, and for people who don't go to college. I mean if you want to believe Yale or any college isn't worth paying for then that's your opinion lol, personally I think I've done a lot of research on Yale CS, it's outcomes, what I'll be learning, I've talked to students there, but yk...you could totally be right too! Personally every Yale student I've met is insanely smart and tbh i get impostor syndrome but sure...call Yale students people of "shocking low intellectual caliber". Also that's not at all how courses work in college? There's intro courses and then you have upper-div courses that only people who satisfy the prereqs can take
