- hey guys!! i can't believe i'm a senior already. this year went by so quick but also so slow... the college applications process has been so stressful, but i am extremely grateful for every acceptance. good luck if you're applying to colleges soon; you got this!!! i might make some more college app related videos soon so subscribe if you want to!

the process is SO random, I watched this poor guy get waitlisted/rejected from almost all his colleges and at the end he got into Stanford. Also congratulations on all those acceptances! I don't even have to know you to say how proud I am of you and the rest of class of 2025!!
i hear this story all the time and i love it. people getting rejected into all of their top schools, even some schools with 20-30% acceptance rates, and then get into the most selective school in the country, stanford. it just goes to show that stanford’s admission process is so unique - they really do care about who the applicant is as a person much more than their achievements. it’s part of the reason why stanford is my dream school.

@@gaby4061 Just want to preface that Stanford's admission process is also to a certain degree, random too! When you have any school with prestige (e.g. stanford) they automatically get swamped with many more applicants that, arguably, are "worthy" of being there. So what they end up doing is they end up building a class with a wholistic mindset (making sure there are some music people, some CS people, some sports people, ect.). This means that when you're applying to the school, you could be an amazing applicant, you could be an amazing person, it's just that they already have someone very similar to you, whose application they read earlier than yours. Saying all this so if you do apply to Stanford and they don't accept you, do not take it as a blow to your own self worth because Stanford's admission process is pretty random too, all admissions processes are. ^.^
@@gigitruong9466 of course lmao, i'm not saying it's not. just saying i notice a pattern between the types of applicants that ivy leagues generally accept vs the types that stanford generally accept. trust me, i know how random the college admissions process is

ugh i love the bit at the beginning i was definitely that freshman watching these videos developing a toxic mindset. This is so realistic to how taxing the college application season is. it’s not just writing an essay and then getting into ivies lol. (senior waiting on decisions btw)

Congratulations, Julia, on your acceptances! I’m a grad student at Johns Hopkins University. And I am glad I stumbled onto your video, it brings back memories of my undergrad decision days. No doubt Brown dual program is a great choice since your intended major is digital art and sociology. If the cost of attendance is not an issue, I would personally choose Penn, it’s in one of the favorite cities, Philadelphia, as well as the fact that Penn is more well known internationally. I just love Penn. Brown is a great institution as well. You will do great things attending either one. Good luck on your undergrad journey! It must be exciting to start college.
Congrats! I really wish they had the brown-risd dual degree program back when I went to brown. It seems ideal. Brown is a very special place, and I hope you have a wonderful time there if you decide to go.

I am a Wash U. alum. It is a great school. But ultimately you have to decide for yourself which college is right for you. Brown and Penn are also phenomenal schools where you will no doubt do extremely well. Congratulations on all your acceptances!!

Congratulations. While looking into options for our current Junior, I looked into Brown/RISD dual degree for my current freshman daughter - seeing your art, etc. you seem perfect for the program. Unfortunately, per my net price calculator results, Brown's idea of expected family contribution is way higher than every other college that states they "cover 100% of demonstrated need", so Brown/RISD is probably out of our reach

My daughter just got accepted to Brown to pursue a BFA. She’s also interested in sociology. Unfortunately of the schools she’s been accepted to, Brown has offered the lowest financial aid. 😢
I would ask what your stats were but sat scores are coming out Friday and I don’t need that stress😂😂 so instead I’ll ask what extracurriculars did you take
sorry i think posting stats and ecs is super toxic and doesn't really help anyone. ofc they're important; at the end of the day, everybody is different, and there's no benchmark to get into colleges!!

What do you think about applyjg to 22 colleges(ucs, csus, ivys, private)
i would not recommend it. That's a lot of colleges and when you begin writing essays, it will feel like so much more work then you anticipated. Think about whether you would actually go to them and try to narrow it down to 15 max..
