im so glad to see someone else agree that tricolor turf war wasn’t good. i was with some friends and we only one once. im hoping it gets improved by the time we have our next splatfest.

Ah Mista Sky ive been waiting to be able to watch this video! I enjoyed your points and agree that TriColor was so unfair to the middle team. Im sure later on people will come up with strategies to counter weak points but for now we can all agree it was a huge disadvantage. Love your shirt btw!! I still feel very mixed about it but definitely positive enough where Im picking the game up day one.

If you don't count the few matches I've played in spkatoon 2 then 3 will be my first splatoon game I'd REALLY get into. So I'll go into it with an open mind. Tri color turf war sounds like it'd be a pain in the ass tho ngl. As of this comment the game is officially out so I'm pretty hyped to see what you think of the full game and to experience it myself!

*Okay, really big takeaway here, so buckle up and strap in fellas.*
Honestly as a first time splatoon fan whose first game is Splatoon 3, I can say this is going to be a really great entry to jump into. I played all throughout splatfest and it really did had that combination of elements from the first 2 games along with a few new elements (like joining friends directly from the lobby)!
Learning to control the weapons were super easy and fluid to use. I only got a chance to use the default one and the Splat Shot Jr. (at least I think that's what it was called), but all of those weapons look super cool and powerful to use on the battlefield.
Really like the trio of Deep Cut as well! Big man is always going to be my favorite out of the 3, but I feel like Nintendo really knocked it out with recruiting some big music stars here! 😤👏
I also enjoy swimming my way through the stages as well. Mahi-Mahi Resort could be a tad bit bigger but I'm sure that they're gonna fix that as they add some more exciting variety stages later on.
Now in terms of the splatfest, I had so much fun within the first half of playing the turf wars and having that completive spirit to make this game even more exciting .....but then came Tricolor. The concept for how it was intended to go kinda worked, but in reality, it became an chaotic mess. Not only the stage (Sturgeon Shipyard) selected was a bad choice, but also how it was generally assigned to play. For one, we weren't able to get into it from the lobby itself, and it really hurt the chances for those who were primarily good at turf war, but not Tricolor turf war. Also while the amount of players was fine, it was still at an amount that can do some big damage. Trying to take out the other 2 teams on top of protecting our Ultra Signals (along with them respawning with the other team's ink) became too much of an overload for the winning team. This is in part just became very uncoordinated to operate as a team to get the win, and let the other 2 teams snatch our chances at the last moment. This is the first test run though, and the Splatoon devs did see that this happened, which is good. So what they needed is a better stage, placement, and mechanics for more better coordination with each team. Because that honestly, it felt too overpowering and frustrating rather than fun and exciting. Hopefully they’ll fix those issues in the next splatfest and lower down the probability of getting that. But for now, it definitely ruined the second of the splatfest for the losing team by a long shot (big GGs to the Teams Rock and Paper tho y'all did really well).
All in all, playing the demo with all of my friends was a good grand ol time and I will never forget this experience in the memory book. There's still a lot that this game has yet to discover in terms of the story mode, shops, and all of the other elements that were brought new and from Splatoon 1 + 2. However, I can say that this was worth the hype and nearly 3 year wait for this beautiful entry.

Well said! This game should be an amazing and memorable experience since it's your first! I would say the biggest piece of advice I could give is to try out as many different weapons and modes as you can, that way you'll never get bored! All for BIG MAN!
This is a good comment! I really wanted to hear from someone who is brand new to splatoon and had that fresh start. I do agree that if its your first splatoon game this is going to be such a great game!
