He will just completely deny it, no matter how much proof I have. No accountability whatsoever.

My narcissist ex apologized one time the whole entire duration of our situationship , but let me tell you , it was one hell of a half assed apology. It was followed by how I couldn’t just let things go , and how I always nit•pick about everything , and just tried making me feel like I was the one in the wrong. She was really good at flipping the situation around into somehow making me out to be the problem . Then it would go into the silent treatment for days upon days. Sometimes a full week. Finally I was discarded due to the way that I acted because I would stand up for myself , and/or call her out on her bullshit. After the discard it was hard for her to completely let go . So she started telling me that I was the one who needed to change. That I needed therapy, and medicine because I was an emotional rollercoaster . I guess the problem wasn’t how she got caught cheating on me , using me for every dime I had , not giving anything back to the relationship , no sex , no intimacy , no affection at all , but I was somehow obligated to take care of her and all her needs.
I ended up going no contact after months of telling me how I was the whole problem , night after night of the silent treatment , never attempting to spend time with me , but still telling me she wanted things to work out between us , and of course she was still asking me to help pay her rent at her roommate’s house. She would say things like “you always told me that you would help me if I needed it ,” or “ if you really loved me you would help me.” Trying to pull the guilt trip was very common with her.
3 months after the discard I decided to go no contact , and it’s been 2 months since then. I haven’t heard a word from her , but she was hiding the fact that she was seeing someone else , but just not telling me about it. She thought she could keep me on the back burner just in case her deceitful plans didn’t work out , or that she could continue to try using me for my money behind her new supply’s back.
The bad part about it is , I know I’ll hear back from her because everything she has is still in my name. her car will need tags here come October , and I’m going to avoid her like plague . I’ve decided that I’ve helped her enough already , and I refuse to do anything else for her.

Now when I listen to you everything falls into place…. Wow…. I love this man so much but I walked away from him, I can’t do this anymore, thank you so much for explaining this…. I wish I could help him…

My story with a 38 year marriage to a narcissist I too f'ed up to write about. I did know what was going on until it was too late. In therapy. But he destroyed the family. A bad date line episode that ends in tragedy. In the end he did write me a letter apologizing for his a actions. 🙏💔
