How long was the delivery to Australia ?

Nice review. I am surprised the range has improved over V1 transmitter even though both specs are 100m. I can't wait to get mine and test it at other side of the planet.

This is a pretty sweet buggy Dave! Ive got the version 2 desert buggy ( which I have yet to review😝)so I’ll probably be passing this buggy version up. I’m glad they upgraded this though as it’s pretty popular. The Transmitter and receiver upgrade was a great move! I’m totally with you on the need for dual rates on their controller! It really flies right along! I’m sure a great jumper!

if you have version 2 then you have lots of problems with the teeth in your motor , alignment motor mount problems, bearings getting stuck low quality bearings, back swing arms installed incorrectly to much forward inclination, esc has the probability to go into low voltage protection if you play alot with 3s , rims if you tighten just a tiny bit of what is suppose to they wont turn at all so you have to always drive with 1mm to 2mm loose nuts i dont think you should pass on this one because they fixed everything including A swing arms with reinforcements i hope for newer versions they remove the colorful scheme and put something more adult like.

Body seems to sit a few mm's off the chassis. Not great for speed runs, but otherwhse doens't really matter.
Whats the biggest 3s battery with no modifications I can put in car. To make it go the fastest and last the longest ?
I never tried 3s in this model but I been told in the comments the ESC is not 3S compatible

If I wanted to upgrade the battery which one do you recommend. ?
I'd go with a 2200 - 2500mah higher C rated lipo, maybe like a 50C that would be a good upgrade and longer run times

No i haven't tried a 3S on this model, i presume it can handle a 3S like the previous models though

The 124017 v2 had a 60 amp esc no? New one on the 124007 is 45 amp
Yes i am pretty sure that was the case 60A on the 124017 then they went 45A on this one

Yes they have and it gets rid of the delay on older models too, check out my recent Bind Them All video 👍

So this goes 45mph on 2s... Wonder if the motor would handle a 3s esc

2200 mah with 25c , 2s, is not high performance. They just wrapped it with a new outter look, much like the buggy itself. Get an upgraded servo with faster reaction (quadrifyrc is the place to check for specific models) and obv check diffs / shocks for fluid / oil before running, and you gotta 124017 v2. Maybe we should stop saying the scale number in the name, but I've seen some that were clearly 14th scale listed as 12th.
Correction, wasn't the stock esc on the V2 45 amps? If so, then they've lowered the esc's amps but likely increased it's stability and reliability instead.

Can you summarize the main differences between the 124017 model? because some say 124017 is better.
The main differences are the body shells and this new one has a much better transmitter range, than the old transmitter, check out my range test video👍
