They should do a sequel where Michael tries to get his life together. He ends up becoming a bourbon enthusiast. He really likes allocated bourbon and has a wall of 100’s of cool bourbon bottles in his basement bar. The frustrations of “hunting” allocated bottles makes him go crazy again.

My own personal pitch, if I had the power and the resources: Do one feature film, in the same vein as Creepshow or Twilight Zone: The Movie. One movie, 4 stories. Each story brings closure to each timeline. The stories could be bookends by a patient at Smith's Grove that turns out to be Charlie Bowles writing in a journal (or something in that ballpark).

Very incorrect. Halloween is the environment, Myers is just ONE character in that universe.
Halloween was never created to be a Myers- only universe. And it was never, ever intended for Myers to chase Lori (or anyone) well into their 70s and 80s.

Personally I would be more than open for A24 take on both Michael Myers and Halloween III world.
In case of Season Of The Witch I only think it's very crucial to emulate that John Carpenter X Debra Hill production style and vibe, since it made this mvoie so awesome (with all due respect to Tommy Lee Wallace and Tom Atkins of course :D )

I think if they do a tv show the concept should be about the town of Haddonfield and Michael Myers should just be in the background while every week there is a different scary story (some can even be supernatural) set in the town of Haddonfield and the pilot could be Michael's origin story showing what let up to the night he 🔪 his sister kind of like the Freddy's Nightmares pilot. That way the adult Michael Myers can remain on the BIG SCREEN where he belongs but we could still have an interesting tv show. 🤷‍♂️🎃 🤷‍♂️🎃🤷‍♂️🎃🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the update, Dave 👍! I had some time to digest this info and I've come up with three possibilities for where A24 might be taking Halloween next. First of all, I don't think they're gonna touch Season of the Witch because there's no Michael Myers in it. A company like A24 is not going to buy the TV rights to the Halloween franchise and then be told that they can't use Michael Myers in their story.
If they're interested in Halloween, then they're interested in Michael Myers, not Conal Cochran. Just look at Crystal Lake, for instance. According to Bryan Fuller, we will see Jason on that show. EVERY version of Jason will make his way onto that show at one point or another and once again that's according to Bryan Fuller.
So it stands to reason that if they do acquire the streaming rights to a Halloween TV series then Michael Myers is going to be in it. As to what that show might be about, I have some possibilities for that. A24 likes to tell horror stories set in the past. Once again it stands to reason that this show might be set in the '60s, '70s, or '80s similar to what's being done with Crystal Lake.
Maybe this Halloween TV show is going to be a grindhouse version of John Carpenter's Halloween (1978)? Similar to X and Pearl. With Mia Goth as Laurie Strode and it'll be set back in '78 like the original. That's one possibility.
Another possibility is the show could center around Haddonfield much like the Crystal Lake TV show is going to center around Crystal Lake. Perhaps it could explore the history of Haddonfield and show that the town has a really messed up history behind it? Therefore this type of show wouldn't need to focus on Michael Myers in order to make it work. He could just be there in the background.
Like Jason is going to be in the Crystal Lake show. Instead, with a show specifically about Haddonfield, you can get in to the messed up family histories of like the Myers' and the Strodes'. If they wanted to, they could bring that druid stuff into it from Halloween 6 by showing Haddonfield's crops struck by famine back in the '40s and '50s and the residents of the town call upon Sam Hain to help cure the famine and agree to sacrifice a child to him every x amount of years. Then they could show that Michael Myers was to be one of the children that was supposed to be sacrificed to him but instead something goes wrong and Michael becomes an unstoppable killing machine instead.
Yes, this would be like giving Michael Myers an origin story, Dave. But it wouldn't be the first time he was given an origin story. Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007) already gave him and his rage one. At least with this type of story that I mentioned as a possibility, Dave, it would keep a supernatural aspect to Michael Myers and not try to explain away his rage this time.
So that's two possibilities right there for what I think A24 could do with a Halloween series, Dave. The third possibility is that they could just tell an original story connected back to John Carpenter's Halloween (1978) and Halloween II (1981). It could be set right after Halloween II (1981). Have Michael escape from the ambulance that he's in and head back to Haddonfield and he hides away for maybe 4 years (as an Easter egg to when the original Halloween II (1981) came out) and then he goes on another killing spree looking for Laurie Strode in 1981.
This type of show could go for 6 episodes maybe and get really in depth with the characters and the trauma and issues that they're dealing with after surviving Michael's '78 killing spree closer to the time of incident which would set it apart from the 2018 Halloween film by DGG that showed the after effects of the trauma people experienced after Michael's '78 killing spree but 40 years later. Cast Mia Goth as Laurie. Bring in Jimmy and Deputy Hunt (recast them if course because the original actors have aged out of the roles) but make Hunt the chief of police now in 1981. This type of story could work also as a streaming series and they could get multiple seasons out of it as well.
Yes, it would mean altering the Halloween timeline again. But, heck, how many times has that been done already? What do you think of my ideas, Dave? Do you think any of them are a possibility?
One thing is for certain, though, Dave. If A24 does get their hands on the Halloween TV streaming rights, then whatever type of show they make, it will most likely be set in the past, similar to what Bryan Fuller is doing with the Crystal Lake show. And I for one would definitely be interested in seeing what they come up with if they do wind up getting the rights because I am super excited for the Crystal Lake TV show 🎃.
    Cheers, Dave 🎃🍻

As much as I like h3, I don’t think they’ll do it. They like to appeal to the majority, and most fans don’t even know h3 exists. I see them doing either a series or movie on streaming like Texas chainsaw and Star Wars to play it safe. Since kills and ends, most fans would probably not wanna see a theatrical Halloween yet, so they got to win them back

I agree with what you have to say 95% of the time.. But I don't think a few million dollars is over-valuing the franchise. Then again, I never bought the rights to a movie. Good or bad, it seems like Halloween has been a money printing machine lately.

I for one would love if A24 got the rights. So many people say they want a return to that 1978 style of film and if anyone can do it, it would be A24- at least from their track record.
I am hoping an anthology is the route they go- perhaps stemming from Season of the Witch and going from there. Does not mean Myers shouldn’t be included at some point.

Just my opinion you don't need to show adult Myers anymore. That's been done to death...no pun intended. Show him in smiths Grove as a child with Loomis. There are comics that have gone into this. Suggesting that Michael is killing as a child while being locked up. Loomis suspects this but can't prove it. And again if course nobody will listen to him because Michael is a child and is catatonic, but the other kids are afraid of Michael and give him a wide birth after the deaths start to happen. You could do 15 seasons of that right up to the point he escapes in 78. I get money for the rights vs. Trying to produce a tv show and keep costs down, but you have to spend money to make money. But I think the adult Myers story line as far as haddonfield is done. Come up with a story where he winds up in another state for whatever reason....because Michael originally stalked and killed for no reason. And the people who are dealing with him now have to figure out why and how to stop him. Just my opinion as a fan.....but what do the fans know about anything right?

  • @stephenmoss6874

I'd love to see a prequel TV series. I'd name it Smiths Grove based in 1963 when young Michael Myers is imprisoned for killing his sister. We could see Myers time through the first 15 years when he was an inmate. If done right I believe this could be brilliant. The conclusion of the series whenever that is be it after one season or multiple seasons, you could see when Michael escapes in 1978 without showing too much which is key.

    • @stephenmoss6874
      @stephenmoss6874 Před 10 měsíci

@michaeledwards1644 Yes your right but my thoughts are we could see disturbing things happen such as inmates getting killed mysteriously but Loomis can't prove Michael was responsible but he knows it was him who committed the murders. Something like this would be great I think if done correctly and they keep Michael mysterious and don't humanise him or rationalise his motives for killing particularly killing Judith. Such a series could have the tension we had in the first film which has sadly been lacking from many of the film sequels.
