- "Halloween Kills" is the twelfth installment in the long-running "Halloween" franchise, and the second part of what could be described as the series' third (at least) total reboot. Despite all that, don't worry - it's actually very simple.
Slasher movies don't get more simple than the core narrative of "Halloween" - a mysterious shape of a man by the name of Michael Myers has broken out of the asylum and is killing everyone he sees.
"Halloween Kills" picks up right where the 2018 "Halloween" movie left off, with Michael rising from the flames to kill (and hopefully die) again. Does anyone make it out of this one alive? This is the ending of "Halloween Kills" explained.

Well the movie takes place in 2018 so COVID wasn't really an issue at the time. It's a continuation from the last movie.
I think the flashback scenes and the incorporation of survivors in past movies really brought this movie back home and made it so much better !

I felt bad for the escapee who jumped to his death fleeing the mob. Also, I noticed what kept Michael from killing Lindsay was her trying to remove his mask. Mask removal is a sore spot for him.

Michael can’t be killed if he has on the mask. If he has it off he is weaker that’s why he completely disregarded killing Allyson because Karen had his mask and before he killed everyone else he had to put it back on instead of just going straight for them.
I hate movies like this because there are way too many idiots in them. Most of the deaths could have been avoided and he could have easily been taken out especially when the whole town got together. What a joke!

I finally figured it out. He cannot be killed with the mask on. His attention is always immediately to the mask if its removed. Before the mob shot and beat him, the first thing he did was put on the mask. I could be wrong but go back to all the other movies and see.

The recent “Halloween Kills” gave a nod to “Halloween 3: Season Of The Witch” by having the witch, pumpkin, and skull mask in it.
All 3 masks were in Halloween 2018 too.

Michael isn’t drawn to Laurie and never has been. He’s only drawn to his childhood home and murders along the way. I love that they emphasized that in this movie. He only came across her last movie by coincidence.
Exactly, last film he was never actually hunting her, he was just going around and killing people he came across. The only way he knew where she lived was because of his Doctor obsessed with him.
He only cares about his childhood house and his mask. In the recent movie he only killed people that were along the route to his home, instead of hunting Laurie he just went to his childhood home. I dont think she's that much of a priority to him as people think.
As for the mask, Michael actively hunted the couple in the last movie because they had his mask. Similar in the recent film, Michael stops choking allison once she starts pulling off his mask. Then Karen takes off his mask and runs off with it and instead of finishing Allison he chases after Karen, not for her, but for his mask.
also my theory on what is Michaels power it's the mask think about it why is he so protective over people trying to remove it why when confronted by the mob in the street did he pick up the mask and put it on he did it because it's the source of his power that is how you kill him remove the mask
Actually the reason him being how he is, may have to do with the Thorn cult and that Laurie is probably his sister. Cause as long as a myers sibling lives, he'll always come back. So Michael will live as long as Laurie is alive.

When he put his mask on before the fight, that scene gave me chills. It made him look so badass but I realize from the comments it was because he’s invincible with it or something.

@@LeaveMeAloneFBI In Halloween 2, (the old one) he went to hospital to kill her and in Halloween 2018, he went all the way out to her secluded house in woods to get her, so she's always been the target which is why this one was alittle confusing.and let's not forget Halloween H20...she changed her identity and left Haddonfield and he still found her...the premise of the whole series was to kill his sister.

This movie was absolutely awesome, eve better than Halloween (2018). One of the highlights of the movie was the flashback scenes. The recreation of the Myers house, seeing old school Michael Myers (with a perfect mask!) and the return of Dr. Loomis!!!! My wife and I were in awe seeing that.
How many have a feeling that the only ending of Halloween Ends is the end of Lori and everyone else? With the “shape” remaining very much alive and ready to take more victims!

I am thinking it will end with Laurie coming across a bound up Michael and she chops his head off similar to H20, but it ends up being the granddaughter. Michael would pull a gotcha and walk off into the night - roll credits.

I think Michael does have some element of the supernatural . I hope Halloween ends will explain everything. Halloween kills is a good movie with a high body count and it was very bloody. Seeing Michael go beast mode on people was a holy shit moment.

I think Karen might surprisingly be alive for two reasons:
- she actually hallucinated that scene of her getting knifed because she saw young Michael in the window, already stretching the realism of the scene, and it's basically her looking in to her dark parts in a way, where evil has taken over
- she survives the stab wounds, like Annie in the 2007 version, this could be because of not really deep wounds (looked like Michael was cutting her arms mostly) or a surprise twist that she's alive like Hawkins (I'm sure most of us thought he was dead when Sartain stabbed his neck because he exhaled like the life left his body).
Same when I was watching I was thinking she didn’t actually die because he only really cut her hands and not any vital organs

Went and saw it yesterday after work. I feel like she is still alive somehow, but we won't know for sure until the next one. But my parents and I said if she did get killed that her mother and daughter will most likely get revenge.

The fact the directors and writers made Michaels motive being him going back to his home makes no sense. They can simply tear his house down and the series would end😂

I liked the movie. Kills were a lot more gruesome then expected (I wanna say most was practical effects. If it was CGI, bravo) Some characters felt under used and some sequences felt like it was missing a cut but overall a really enjoyable movie. Don't expect Oscar-level storytelling as it's a slasher horror.
I loved it. I definitely had issues with it but my god the kills were brutal and amazing

Cheesy funny scenes , literally no character had common sense and in the original movies 1979 all the way up to six were wrote better . Like in Halloween 6 when they caught him they shot his ass up nobody got close he was in front of a firing line and they dam near killed him . Waste of time . Screw the hype bad movie

the ending was perfect to me I loved the twist where they beat him up but he managed to kill them all and then the mother is killed, great job movie creators you did an amazing job

Tyson Well, you're entitled to get disappointed. In 2019, Jason Blum said that he wants to make 10 Halloween sequels. Recently during another interview, he said that they're waiting how these two movies perform. Halloween Kills just killed at the box office and broke two records. If Halloween Ends will be successful (almost quaranteed), there's definetely going to be more movies made. 🎃

Two things I think I've gotten from these latest movies,
1) the mask is probably its own character all along
2) there is gonna be a big life changing scene where we get to look out that window and see what Michael sees when he looks out

I always wondered over the years, what if the whole town had gone after him...This answered that life long question. In the words of Thanos " you should have gone for the head". Yes. A mob scene was created once before. But not at this magnitude. The way his force was shown when taking down the first responders..he went through everyone..the moment when he picked that mask up and was like...ok let's roll...loved it all every moment and I'm sure I will love the next one... as true fan of the franchise...

This was my favorite of all the sequels... Hands down. It was entertaining and honestly... Funny in several scenes, which is something they've never gone for. You can't put Lenny "Clahk" in a movie and not expect some level of comedy... However the scene of what Michael does to him while his wife has no choice but to watch was downright disturbing.

Definitely was a nice twist to the ending, no one wants to see Michael get finished off. Michael is Halloween, the mystery and the horror of this character are legendary that you could watch in 20 more movies. He puts Halloween in the Halloween, placing the fear in you that keeps you looking behind yourself walking to your car. Carpenter has created something that will always come home! Look forward to the next one!!
