- Female icons in the horror genre have grown over the years, but it seemed like they started becoming more celebrated in the '80s, with the final girl trope becoming the staple of today's genre. But one of the true standouts in the genre is a woman who's comfortable as not only the hero role but also can step into the shoes of the monster without batting a perfectly mascaraed lash. And the icon we're talking about is Barbara Crampton on this episode of WTF Happened To This Horror Celebrity?
It’s amazing when an actor brings gravitas and respect to a genre like horror, which for a long time didn’t get that much in the way of props and accolades. So today, we’re showcasing one of the best and a guy who’s more than just a doll face, Brad Dourif!
Robert Englund would go on to become this generations Vincent Price, the erudite character within the horror genre. Robert Englund would go beyond Freddy Krueger and into a realm all his own. He’d create new characters, homage others, and would do so while creating a rabid fanbase that’s got multiple generations within it. On this episode of WTF Happened to This Horror Celebrity, we’re meeting the man of your dreams as we find out WTF Happened to Robert Englund!

Barbara Crampton, Robert Englund, and Brad Dorrif are awesome. I have lucky to have met each of them at Mad Monster Party over the years. Money well spent.
You have my jealous. They all sound fantastic. Which speaking of Dourif, if you haven't seen his Babylon 5 episode you should. It's actually a solid stand alone one, if not the whole series. But its a series of just amazing performances and once in a generation of talent mashups.
Id cry if i met robert Englund. The first horror movie i ever saw was A Nightmare On Elm Street. Also with Jeffrey combs. I love his characters and his role as edgar allan poe in the black cat broke my heart. I'll miss seeing him in lovecraft movies since stuart died
if he's at any cons around your area, I highly suggest meeting him! He's personable and gives each fan attention, despite the long lines and probably hearing the same thing over and over and NoES/Freddy. I talked to him a bit about Nightmare, V, and his VA work on Batman. It was really fun.
I've always loved Brad Dourif. But I absolutely love his portrayal as Chucky. He still kicks ass.
And in Exorcist 3!! He was soooooo good in that movie!!🖤🖤🖤
I love Brad and Robert because they love(d) being their respective horror icons, and the horror genre in general. You have some actors/actresses who dabbled in horror but hated it/only did it for the check. I gotto meet Robert once at a con and for that brief meeting, he seems like such a cool guy. I treasure the picture i have with him, where he's donning the glove.
Barbara Crampton Robert Englund &Brad Dorif the best ones from my own opinion they know how to sell their characters always
Crampton, Dourif, Englund, Todd, Combs, Curtis, Henriksen, Moseley, Bradley, Hansen, Hodder, Campbell, Langenkamp, Smith, Haig, Wallace, Lee, Pleasance, Chaney/Chaney Jr, Cushing, And The Lists Goes On And On. These Names Will Forever Live On In Horror Films And Keep Us Scared For Years To Coome.
My cousin & I got our picture taken with Robert Englund at HorrorHound -- Robert was extremely funny, super sweet, and uber cool.
Seems like Robert is very kind with his time. What a cool guy.
Robert Englund..... what to say. One hell of a guy. Wasn't Hollywood at all. Respects his fans. He could have stopped signing autographs at any time when I met him but he signed everybody's picture and met all of them including me. Love love❤my autographed picture and photo with him to this day.
This series with video interviews is an awesome addition to the channel. Also having a few together making a longer video is also most welcome. Will be looking forward to see where you go with this.
Barbara Crampton is just so goddamned goregeous and she has aged so gracefully. And that doesn't even cover how frikkin talented she is!
A 2 hour JoBlo video?! I’m so excited🫡
Barbara Crampton is a national treasure.
I loved Beyond The Gate
Jesus Christ JOBLO 2 Hours Of This Video My Goodness.
Yeah, Barbara Crampton is still hot as hell. I'm curious to check out some of those movies as well. I've had a huge crush on her since Re-animator.
44:40 Holy shit the 70s missed a perfect Live action Shaggy for scooby do.
I still haven't watched Reanimator. Intentionally. I've seen literally all of the other zombie movies and I know what it's about. I guess I'm saving it for later. Like Blade Runner.
How is she still so gorgeous?!?! 40 years in the industry what?
There better be a video about Lin Shaye
I love the fact that she is aging gracefully. Instead abusing fillers and botox. Shes a goddess.
All the actors are talented
Truth explaining, what I saw 29 years ago.
I remember the beautiful ladies looking so beautiful..
😈👍
Great lisp
🤓☝🏻
Wonder if those survivor girl trope using films would today be called "woke films" and canceled or just accepted for the good movies they are in general?
It’s my least favorite out of the first 4. 5 was trash. 6 and 7 were good but kept bending the imagination since it crosses into zombie territory starting with 6. 8 was trash. 9 was a waste. 10 was beyond camp, but better than 8 & 9. FvJ was awesome.
