Faculty is one of the most star studded movies. I disagree that it's underrated. I believe the people who have seen it, appreciate it for what it is.
I actually just saw The Frighteners for the first time earlier this week, and absolutely loved it. I couldn't understand why it wasn't bigger.
I grew up watching these movies on VHS with The Faculty and The Frighteners being my favorite movies.
We went to see The Frighteners in the theater & ended up walking out within 20 minutes. I don't know why, but we hated what we were seeing at the time. I had never walked out of a movie before & haven't since then. I really need to give it another shot.
The frightners is probably one of my favorite Michael j fox movie
@@BeeTeePee🤦
My mother rented the Faculty from Blockbuster, never heard of it. Watched it while she was at work... don't know how many times I watched it before she returned it. Still one of my fav Sci fi movies
Now, this is my kind of Father's Day gift. I love Scream 2, Frightners, and The Faculty.
I loved all of these movies, they were my childhood, especially "The Faculty", which is basically Breakfast Club meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
THE FRIGHTENERS,SCREAM 2 AND THE FACULTY = BEST FATHERS DAY EVER.
Josh Hartnett is severely underused and underrated
All great movies. The Frighteners and The Faculty are a couple of my top favorite movies. ❤❤
I was obsessed with the faculty when I was a kid 😂🤦 still kinda is.
The late 90's had some great horror movie's my favorite of the three is Scream 2 best sequel in the franchise
The Faculty, I think from now on I will sum it up with "just look at this fucking cast" but seriously, what a great cast. This really did feel like it happened at a real high school. What a good script
Each of these deserve their own videos. I love them both. Sad to see that these aren't better appreciated.
I was so digging this flashback right up until you burped out that The Faculty was 25 years old. I even fact checked youbut to no avail. Ego officially crushed 😵
If it makes you feel any better there’s no one immune to it. I know what you mean though I saw that when it opened and it doesn’t feel quite that far back
@michaelblaine6494 I would have guessed maybe 10 years back but definitely not 25.
Stop being so obsessed with time, youth , and aging and you will be fine. People are nuts.
I actually never thought Derek was one of the killers, and I totally agree please bring back Matthew Lillard
Compared to films today these are bonafide genuine masterpieces! “Rewatch ability” is the real test of a movie..I’ve only rewatched 80s, 90s films…modern films are so bad so only watched them once! 🤯🤯🤯🤯😎😎😎😎
From modern films rewatchability: Top Gun: Maverick, 21 Jump Street with 22 Jump Street, Skyfall, Rush Hour 1, Shainghai Noon, IP Man, The Dark Knight and Shazam.
I saw the Frighteners in theaters when I was young. I fell in love with it. I’m so happy to see someone give this film the respect it deserves! Thank you!
@@livd5358 Where I was The Frighteners got overshadowed by the films Eraser and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. However, as time went on more people have discovered this wildly entertaining flick that could exist on the same Universe as Supernatural.
I loved the frighteners. Micheal J Fox kills it
3 classics. I always got the Faculty confused with Urban Legends.
Also a decent movie 👌
I don’t blame Jordana for having those expectations for Fast and Furious. Car movies were considered pretty underground until New Millenium with Gone in 60 seconds and Fast and Furious really bringing that subculture to the mainstream.
The Frighteners is such an incredible movie and one of my favorites. While The Faculty and Scream 2 (besides killing Randy) are great movies, they have nothing on this Peter Jackson gem.
At the time of release, Faculty was far from obscure. I and my brothers rewatched it maybe 20+ times.
The Frighteners is an underrated classic 👍
My folks saw Michael J. Fox walking around Lyttleton, in Christchurch, New Zealand back in '95 when he was filming The Frighteners. It was a big deal for us Kiwis, pre-LOTR
I was 12 when I first watched the faculty and I loved it so much
I saw The Faculty opening night,it was Christmas ironically
The Frighteners X-Factor hit like a falling piano.
A bit of Faculty trivia and a further connection to The Breakfast Club:
The Breakfast Club opens with a citation from David Bowie‘s „Changes“, The Faculty closes with a cover version of the song by Shawn Mullins.
The Faculty and The Frighteners are great. Favorites of mine. I always get House and House II vibes from the Frighteners. Especially House II
The frighteners has nothing to do with coming of age or high school though lol
Edit: Also Sydney is by far the most desirable final girl. She's not just smart, tough, and beautiful. She's also a survivor who makes the most of her life despite the trauma she endures. She's inspirational really
He never said these were all coming of age or high school movies. I think that was just a coincidence since so many 90s slashers have a high school or high school students in them since that's one of the main target audiences for horror films.
Two out of three are Kevin Williamson scripted pieces which is fitting considering he rebooted horror for a new generation with the original Scream. His resume is insane, but particularly the back end of the nineties. He also was a huge contributer to the indie darlings class of 90's along with Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarentino, Robert Rodriguez, Richard Linklater, Ed Burns, Jon Favaro, Vince Vaughn, Owen and Luke Wilson, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in their written work embraced The Meta to new found levels of self referential and beyond. Williamson also created and wrote Dawson's Creek which was its own multiverse of pop cultute drops. The Scream movies are a deconstructionist wet dream on the history of horror cinema. Killing Mrs. Tingle, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Faculty, Halloween H2O. He was breaking the fourth wall of Hollywood and life.
Usher was already a star after his "My way"(1997) album.
Yes. I agree, the moment Randy died, you could feel it, the series was never the same. I mean, even having him die so early in the film, I mean I get it, it signals to the audience anyone can get killed...but damn. Seriously? It's one of the reasons I have a hard time watching the movie often. I usually skip it and move on to the 3rd one.
I love double features. For these 3 films: Scream and Scream 2 is the obvious choice, but I'd go Final Destination 2. Ghostbusters with the Frighteners is fun. The Faculty is one I'd play with Planet Terror. Some Rodriguez fun.
yep, this is my thing. i loooove The Faculty, and the other '90s teen horror movie that comes to mind is Disturbing Behavior.
A forgotten gem
I freaking love this movie even to this day. The cast definitely is the star and what makes it work.
Oooh I love the frighteners. There's even a Peter Jackson cameo in the movie.
RANDY! 😩😭
You made an hour feel lime 20 minutes. Great stuff.
I cant beleive they havent re-made a faculty series yet
I really enjoyed teaching mrs. Tingle
I love the Frighteners, i was surprised it wasn't a success
I absolutely love the faculty to this day!
Mickey does give a little hint while he's talking to Sidney while they're waiting. He says "Why did he (Derek) go back into the house?" And the look on Sidney's face gives it away that he's one of the killers because neither of them tell Mickey that Derek went back into the house. 😳
I simply love the frighteners ❤
The Obscure vídeo game was a mix of The Faculty, Parasite Eve and Resident Evil.
The opening scene is one of the most disturbing Hollywood openings in horror history. It's horrible horrific and tragic.
Jefferey coombs always feels so underrated.
Every year since the frightners came out ive watched it at least once. Sometimes more if i come across someone that hasnt seen it. Awesome movie. Also yeah its a pg-13 movie all day long.
Personally I would have used Disturbing Behavior instead of The Frighteners. It fits better in the list. Just my opinion.❤❤
Great video!♥️♥️
… wonder how long this took to edit. 🤔
Thank you sOo much for the content!
I am definitely a cult follower of The Faculty and The Frighteners... Totally amazing even the first time through for me. Seriously, Scream 2-4 don't really make me remember anything substantial, which is probably why ai love to rewatch the OG, it's also the only one I care much about.
I love the Faculty so much
What about, I know what you did last summer, Urban Legends, Disturbing behavior, H20, Bride of Chucky and the Blair witch project?
I like your take on most of the x factors you present on here. However, me and this is "my" x factor about most of the Scream movies(if they are done right that is) is the phenomenal cast at most times makes these movies rewatchable after the killer has been revealed. My hook to "deduce" like Sherlock Holmes on figuring out who the killer was is my cake and ice cream. (No pun intended). After they are revealed, its not as fun. And let's face it, as the movies were released, the killers got lamer. The cast and witty diologue keeps me coming back for more. As mentioned before, I like your views and opinions, jokes, and presentation. Keep up the good work.
"The Faculty" is getting a 4K remaster courtesy of Scream Factory thanks to a license by Paramount and Miramax.
The head shot in the frighteners was in response to the refusal to make the movie pg13 instead of the cause of it
I don’t really think “The Frighteners” R-rating had much to do with its box office performance. There have been many R-rated movies that have done well at the box office. July 1996 was stacked with huge movies. “Independence Day” anyone. It was number one the weekend “The Frighteners” was released, and it was its third weekend. All four new wide releases that weekend were all number five or lower.
I think it should have been released later.
The frighteners I love this movie it is my favorite
Lol...yeah, GB made The Frighteners very scary...and I grew up on horror from childhood. I loved that movie, but GB, man, scares the hell out of me.
Is there a version of these three separate?
MAN, in 25 years Usher went from high school sports star to the Vegas residency
I don't get why people feel that Roman's motive were the weakest he was abandoned by his mother and then had to watch Sidney basically replace him that would cause a person some real Psychological trauma and if it wasn't for Roman, the events of the first movie would have never happened, so there would be no scream without him.
Does the principal get to come back??
Sarah Michelle Gellar. ❤️
How... Have I never heard of The Frighteners before this? I'm a 90s kid FFS.... I grew up with HBO/max/showtime and no restrictions on what we watched... The Faculty? Heck yea, loved that... But never even heard of The Frighteners somehow....
What happened to Josh Hartnett
One thing I never liked about 90’s horror is how commercial, hip, trendy and “sanitized” it got…. I really miss the irreverent, unapologetic rebellious nature and the sleaze…. By then…. Every other hot new star and pop singer was hopping into the bandwagon….
The trendiness was kind of annoying. But there was a definite uptick in the quality of writing, cinematography and effects. Definitely more slick.
Why can't this vid be saved for later? It's literally not an option
have you tried clicking the ellipses after clip?
Edit: if you scroll all the way to the right where the thumbs up/down button is, there's an option to save, which saves it to "watch later"
-@thecunninlynguist they are correct, it's not there. Not on mobile anyway. It could be a CZcams eff up. They keep changing up stuff.-
@@BeeTeePee thank you for responding. Just wanted to make sure I'm be able to watch your content and I've noticed that the save for later doesn't show up on every video now. I wonder why they would take it away? They also took away the ability to save things to watch later on your homepage easily. Up until recently you could simply click the clock and it would save it. Now you have to jump through a series of hoops to make that happen. Making things more complicated and taking away features that work, is frustrating.
Why are you reuploading same videos from a couple of months ago?
I remember begging my older brother to take me to see the faculty cause usher was in it lol i came out like that movie was so damn good. Ngl.... i think i like the faculty better than scream
Um did I stumble into an alternate dimension?? Wtf is The Frighteners??
The Frighteners could have been really good but the FBI agent was so unbelievable and so terrible that It lessened the movie
I Still think The Faculty's cast would go on to become b listers... Huge franchises for some yeah but none of them were A List leads in their own right, really...
Like a bloody version of Scooby-Doo.
Frightners was dark, the rating was appropriate. Wrong time, wrong audience. It would Kill today though. And Everybody knew Micky was 1 of the killers.
Jeffrey combs is the best part of The Frighteners
Frighteners was scary and camp
The notion of stu coming back has always been lazy and horrible. Let’s hope radio silence keeps him dead. Even if the idea would have been kewl at some point- the fact that all these years later no one would have mentioned that he’s still alive and suddenly he is would be majorly jumping the shark.
C. Sarah Michelle gellar
Why did you make it seem like Gary Busey was dead?? Haha
Seinfeld an alien? Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Frighteners is better than scream2 sm-Gellar.
Faculty is fun but its no.Disturbing Behavior
Always satisfying to see J.Smith getting butchered
Bro really named off all the killers without a warning 🤡 dislike
These are awful movies.
The Frighteners is the only peter Jackson film I actually like.
Why did you say usher like that?? Racist much????
