Making a Camaro Barn Find ready to Sell! - Vice Grip Garage EP73

  • A guy purchased this 1979 Camaro site unseen, almost to the month a year ago. Since then, it's just been waiting to be cleaned up. Originally, I had plans to do a full restoration on the camaro, as the 78/79 are one of my favorite years, but other projects have now taken precedence. I'm going to do a quick "rehab" on the ol' girl and just send it down the line. This way, we save a classic, and someone else can take over where I'm leaving off.

My Dad used to own a 1984 Ford LTD Crown Victoria when I was a kid. I found one for sale in Ohio last year and I've been working to try and get it up and running to give to him as I think he would really like the old girl. However, I'm no mechanic and it's been really tough to get a lot of the project done (there are not a lot of videos on how to work on them). I did buy the repair manual for it, but there are a lot of pieces to keep moving. One of the things I've been having trouble with is the engine and distributor. I really appreciate your channel because you work a lot with very similar models of these things and it is helping me to figure out how to repair the car. I really appreciate these videos… I got an old 72 F100 Ranger I’m gonna try to bring the paint back around on it… It’s got some rust on the hood, top of the cab, and bed rails but I’m just gonna clean er up with some steel wool and leave it and put some boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits on it… Thanks again I really love your work and thank you for saving these old classics. 🙌🏼💪🏼

In 1978 I and a friend of mine rented a car in Philadelphia. They asked us if we wanted a compact or a subcompact we were puzzled. You can have the car outside. It turned out to be a Blue Camaro!!!

When I was in high school I had a 79 with that same color interior. I bought it cheap with no motor or trans and the after effects of an engine fire. I put a olds 403 and a turbo 400 in it that I had and had a blast with it till I went in the military. Good times.

That car is from the era that I started buying cars from. My first car I drove was a 1968 Country Squire station wagon with simulated wood paneling on the side. Had a 390 in it. Then a Chevette. Then a 79 Chevy station wagon. Then...well, the story goes on...
