  • If you want just to hear the playing skip straight to minute 5:16
    In this episode I try to find an alternative to my beloved ZVex Fuzz Factory.
    I have one in my main pedalboard and I need that sound out my second pedalboard, but I don't like to have twice the same pedal.
    So I was looking for something similar but different.
    In this video I run through a ZVex Fuzzolo, an Analogman Pepermint Fuzz and an MVO Custom Buddaphant. All great pedals and great velcro Fuzzs.
    I also play them paired with a Tube Screamer to figure out if that makes me cut better through the mix.
    If you buy from this links I get a small commission from Amazon.

    I have the wooly mammoth and I love it-this has me wanting both. It has this lay of grit the mammoth doesn’t -such a great tone. Your tones and videos are awesome, really cant get enough of it-one f my instant favorites on CZcams. Since there are no gigs-you should do a walk through of your rig, show off your favorite setup for live gigs. It’d be great. Thanks man-keep up the great work and ill be watching cloesly

    Beetronics WhoctaHell Low Octave Fuzz might be up your alley. I have that one and love it, though the newer Swarm from them is more versatile. Of the 4 you test though the Factory definitely was my favorite with the bass being most present. The Fuzzalo of course, makes sense it would have a good similar sounds being from the same company. How about trying their Fat Fuzz Factory as it's the same + a bit more? Cheers!

  • @hoboroadie
    @hoboroadie Před 4 lety +1

    It is all sort of new to me, but it seems that there is a good reason for the spectacular prices that fuzz pedals can go for. No substitute for the real thing. I am not a working musician so I can run five amps to get the sound I want, and two of my channels are running separate Jext Telez White Pedals, because they work for me. I do the duplication thing in my many tool buckets, each one has mostly the same bunch of tools because I don't want to have to sort through for every little job. Also I have them scattered around all over ten acres, to save some walking.
    As you noted, good handmade fuzz pedals don't go down much in price, if ever, and the good ones never get re-sold. Get it while you still can!

    But why you cant just crank mids on amp instead of using a tubescreamer?

    • @BuddaGuedes
      @BuddaGuedes  Před 3 lety

      It’s not the same thing, because the tubescreamer also compress the sound and shaves the bass. If you see the amp with mids when you turn off the fuzz it will be terrible (at least to me)

  • @toddgibson6817
    @toddgibson6817 Před 3 lety

    Just so people know. this is a wild wild pedal capable of many crazy sounds et al. However, it should be said that if you just turn the stab (stability) control all the way up, then it becomes and behaves just like any other fuzz
