- People sometimes ask what my favorite pedal of all time is, which is impossible to say. So instead Im going to narrow it down to my favorite categories of pedals starting with Fuzz, these are some of my favorite fuzz pedals of all time. These are the pedals I reach for first when going for a fuzz tone on a gig or a session, and I couldn't do without them.

If you look at Leonardo da Vinci's painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel..god reaches out and touches man's finger. If you look really close that man has a Maestro FZ-1 Fuzz Tone clutched in his other hand. So a few hours talking Fuzz pedals can not be treated lightly :-)

please feel free to make as many 20-minute videos as you need to go through every fuzz you own! I for one would happily watch an hour and a half of that but I also recognize that I'm insane.
Things on Rhett’s “you can never have too many…” list:
1) Fuzz pedals
2) Novo guitars
3) Any amp that isn’t a Fender black or silver face
Missing out on those sounds
You don’t like Jerry or srv or allman bros?
Fender Blue JR is a good amp for pedals
Black panel Fenders are my favorite, just not what Rhett seems to gravitate towards, hence the way the comment is structured.
@Not In The Box I don’t think he’s ever said anything knocking those amps. But he definitely has a thing for amps with gain. Also a lot of people know what fenders sound like (clean and loud) his channel is more about teaching people about gear than showing you his favorites all the time

To be serious for a moment, the way Rhett, Josh, Rick Beato, Keith Williams, Dave Onorato and others all lend their expertise to each other to make all of their channels better is an inspiration.

"All Time Favorite," is for sure a series I'd be interested in watching
My favorite: Beetronics Octahive. Fantastic octave fuzz. Others I really like: JHS Muffaletta (covers lots of Muff territory), Earthquaker Black Ash, and the recent Spaceman Sputnik III.
Congrats! You are a natural for this format - glad you are able to support you and your family with this side of the music industry. I don't think many would have imagined 10+ years ago when CZcams started that so much would shift to it, but you do a great job educating, and entertaining.

My favorite fuzz box is the Maestro FuzzStain. I bought this for $50 in 1978 (my SG Studio was $400 at the same time). It has a Sustain, Soft, and Hard, with a Drive selector wheel (0-10), and a Volume wheel (also 0-10) that acts like a Boost. And it has a bypass. I love the tone on this pedal and have for 43 years.
Hoof Reaper is great, it's my only fuzz and plenty for me. Can get some great overdrive tones with it as well, and pretty much any classic rock fuzz tones.

You're half correct on the JHS Cheese Ball, it's a clone of the Lovetone Big Cheese, as in my avatar.
The Lovetone Cheese Source was a 2 in 1 pedal with the Big Cheese fuzz and the Brown Source overdrive pedals in one enclosure.
The slide tone meme between you and Josh always makes me giggle. Absolutely classic. Gotta admit that I was a fuzz naysayer when I joined the channel all that time ago. Between you and TPS, I've been converted. I now have an EHX Octavix. Into a Soul Food and then a Maxon FL301 flanger, it's the sound of the gods.

You probably wont see this or care, I'm a working bassist from NJ, I used to never use any sort of distortion, but after watching your videos over the last year, my ear has come to like and expect it, I use fuzz alot now, I have a Walrus Jupiter, and I have a SunFace on order. Im genuinely surprised not to see a Fuzz Face style circuit on this list. Anyways do make this a series, I'd love to see your top 5s for other effects. And, it has become a dream of mine to play/jam with you. Maybe next NAMM if you have some time?

There are so many great fuzz units available now compared to when I bought my first Big Muff Pi in the early to mid 70's. One that I've been having tons of fun with lately is Walrus Audio's Kangra Filter Fuzz. Didn't make your list, but man... I'm really blown away by it! Especially flexible and versatile when using an expression pedal with it. Great for filtering other effects and for stacking gain stages. Great video and tones as always... cheers!
The Bliss Factory and Cheese Ball are my two go to fuzz pedals.

Please do many, many episodes like this! You have a wonderful touch and obviously know how to get great tones - there is a surprising range of sounds coming out of these pedals. I am yet to buy my first fuzz pedal other than what is onboard the MS3, I feel like my eyes have been opened here. And great news about the house!
For me, my favorites are the Catalinbread Perseus (A better Blue Box), the Voodoo Labs Proctavia, and the Electro Harmonix Microsynth (when you ignore the filter sweeps and triggers, and just stick to the voices, you get an amazing noiseless parallel octave/drive/fuzz)
Love hearing your pedal picks, they're always good but different from a lot of the stuff we usually see on CZcams!
