Paying 10.00 for extra features for the game of life is like life itself. Anything that might provide you with temporary happiness tends to be overpriced.
Arin did not notice it, but he had the Lunar DLC also on his buy list, so thats why he got both.
well yeah, that's how supply and demand works. start giving thing away, then thing run out. then the people who want thing can never have thing, and the people who got thing became numb to it.
There's also the Season Pass which lets him get... all the destinations to play at and much cheaper than buying them separately like he did for 2 of them...

The funny thing about that "shipwreck scavenger salary isn't even minimum wage" remark is that it's actually double the current US federal minimum wage working 40 hours/week every week (15,080 at $7.25/hour). That's right, it's 2022, a full 15 years after the minimum wage was set to $7.25, and it hasn't changed at all at the federal level.

Count of Monte Cristo is the best adventure story. That's the only critique of it that can exist.
It's basically everything. Every adventure you could want in one book. Like most movies and stories today are one part of it expanded into an entire story of its own. It's nuts....

At retirement is says quick sell your house, while the other option said just to sell it. Selling it early lets you shop around with the prices to get the best price, while selling it at retirement just sells it at the first price you get. If you're in the lead in life experience points, like the hearts, books or piggy banks, then buying and selling houses while still on the board is far more beneficial

I wish there was a "Life: Millennial Edition!" and you could start out going into debt then you could choose a wider assortment of jobs but most were still treasure hunter and sand castle builder. Or you could skip college and start two careers, and be like a treasure hunter AND a sand castle builder. Then when you get to the part where it's like, "Do you want to get married or invest in yourself?" You could instead have the options to get married or get roommates. And then for the having kids options it was just like, "Have more birds!" And each time you get the chance to upgrade your career it's like, "Here's a 3rd or 4th job!"

the thing with the house sales is that you only get to pick extra envelopes during the game. at the end, it's "Quick Sell" which forces you to take the first offer. That's why when you land on the house sale tiles, it says you'll get extra chances or whatever

Ok, so I know this isn't exactly a top tier game for the Grumps, but with how much Arin likes city planning, they should play Cities Skylines. But with a twist: Dan is the only one who plays, while Arin gives definitely calm and collected advice on the progress.

As someone who just finished the 52 HOUR long audio version of Count of Monte Cristo, I relate to the book conversation on an emotional level.
They represent perfectly the two types of people that play this game, Arin as the guy who thinks he can somehow control the outcome and gets frustrated at every turn and Dan just going with whatever the spins come up with and having a good time.
Arin scared the crap out of me, my dog barked and all he said was, "DOG DOG DOG DOG DOG" XD

Had to read it as a requirement before my senior year of high school English class, unabridged. It only makes me slightly mad, cause the teacher halfway through the summer was like, nah, you can do the abridged. Meanwhile I finish the over 1400 page book seething at those with the abridged version once we are back in school.
