Joe Kinnear's death reported on RTÉ News (7th April 2024)

RTÉ News reports on the death of Dublin-born soccer player and manager Joe Kinnear, best known for his successful 10-year spell as a player with Tottenham Hotspur, and later for his role as manager of the now-defunct Wimbledon F.C. between 1993 and 1999. Like many soccer stars of his era, Kinnear ended up being diagnosed with vascular dementia, believed to have been brought on by heading heavy balls during the 1960s and 70s, and died from the condition at the age of 77, nine years after his initial diagnosis.
