'MOMMY, NO!' What neighbors heard, horrific scene in west Baltimore apartment

- Court documents reveal new details in a horrific case out of southwest Baltimore, where two children were found dead inside of an apartment and their mother, police say, confessed to the murders.
The charging documents for Jameirra Hall, 28, detail a neighbor may have unknowingly heard the moments leading up the deaths of Da'Neria Thomas, 6, and her brother Davin Thomas, 8.
The neighbor told investigators that they heard screaming from who they believe was Da’Neria, saying "Mommy, no," on the evening of August 19 into August 20, 2021.
The children were found dead inside their apartment at the Coventry Homes August 24, after a maintenance was asked to investigate a foul odor coming from the unit.

The father didn’t show up to court for custody and he saw the mom earlier in the day talking to herself and acting manic. The father failed them too!
I said that, without even hearing that information. Those kids are not babies and I know they've told somebody what goes on in their house(not home) The father and his family knew and didn't do all that they could to protect the kids, but lie after the kids were killed about wanting the kids. If they wanted those kids, they would've been with the family legally or not.
@@donitaballard5928 You should perform research. Most of the time, children never tell anyone when they’re being abused and beaten. Haven’t you seen the cases where kids have committed suicide because they were being beaten and bullied at school? The children never told their parents.

All of the comments talking about children scream all the time are what's getting me. If you can't tell the difference between children screaming because they're brats having a temper tantrum and screaming in fear for their lives then you don't have any sense! That poor baby had to be sending out blood-curdling screams of fear, not temper tantrum bs that most people can differentiate. Even if you can't, you could at least check things out to make sure it's all right, especially if you're a man! I'm not saying get all nosey into other folks' business, but please keep an eye out for the young ones, the elders, and others who cannot defend themselves!

As someone who heard a infant crying and not knowing the mother passed out drunk and he was stuck in between the wall and bed .. I feel for that man ... the guilt eats you... I knew something wasn't right but you just don't think parents are capable of this ... always trust your gut it's never wrong ... it took me a long time to forgive myself the what ifs ... these poor babies I just can't imagine the horror

I just lost my son to a horrible asthma attack. I would do anything to have my baby back, some people are really sick and don't deserve precious souls called children, people are weird and sick. I miss my baby so much I wish those kids had parents like me this is really a heartbreaking story😭😔

So she got out of jail on arson charges, the father and family tried to keep custody but CPS or the courts thought it better for the mother to have them. This bias towards women and children needs to stop, just because you are the mother, that doesn't automatically make you the better parent.
She was taking out of jail? Oh my goodness! Just to kill them. She should have never been given the children back anyway because she was angry about going to jail.
CPS don't care about kids. It's a shame. They're more worried about taking kids from good homes.

I totally agree that the mom is not always the best choice. Watching a stepdaughter who is psycho raise two daughters and you can literally see the damage being done to them along with what they have inherited. But courts won’t do anything as long as they are being properly cared for.
I've been raising my little girls as a single Father, since they came into this cruel world. They're now going on 8 and 6. Their mother was on the streets of Baltimore for 5yrs, trickin and getting high. She's been clean for 7 or 8 months now, but this is what scares me. I don't think she would hurt them.. but I don't know for sure. Nobody can protect my babies like I can!

@Lisa Shetler I moved to another state almost a year ago. I let her see them once and that was almost 2 months ago.. everything is dictated by me though. Whatever I say, goes and she knows that. She knows she couldn't have done a better job than I have.

I feel so sorry for the neighbor. No one knows what they would have done until they're actually in the situation. I was on vacation and one night I could hear the neighbor beating his wife, but at first I thought they were having adult time so I tried to ignore it, only after I heard her choking (he kept holding her under water) did I realize what was really happening. It's a horrible situation for those caught up in it, you just never know how you'll react.

There is no way we could say we would have done anything because who actually thinks a parent is killing their kids? I had to really think about what I would do…how would you know if she’s not just disciplining them (I’m sorry, I know people are sensitive these days, but we got our butts wiped if we did something wrong). How do you know the kids weren’t just throwing a fit? Everyone with kids knows that they can put up some serious fight when they don’t want to do something…ie “no mommy….I don’t want to go to bed/clean my room/eat that food/etc. When we would put my nephew in the corner, you would swear we were beating him (he would scream and bang on the walls). So REALLY think about it…would you intervene if you didn’t know what was going on?

It's a slippery slope because my daughter, when she can't get her way or falls, she screams with her entire chest....terrible twos. But theres an energy that you can pick up on when a child is acting out and when someone is really hurting them. Idk, that 'Mommy No' would have made me perk up though. My neighbors kid is screaming bloody murder as we speak. It is almost midnight here. I can hear them in the front yard nextdoor. Unfortunately you cannot call the cops every time you hear a kid scream. I have anxiety listening to it but there's nothing I can do.. This child is very spoiled.. I would have run upstairs banging on that door while on the phone with police. If the police had been called they could have saved the little boy's life. Maybe he bled to death. Unfortunately, some people just don't want to get involved! If we hear kids screaming then we NEED to get involved, even if it's just knocking on the door & making sure everyone's alright. I would rather do that, even if my life was taken then have to live with the regret of knowing that I might have been able to stop the violence & just chose not to get involved.

This is what happens when a community--a society--breaks down and no longer communicates face-to-face like human beings. We need to love each other, care for each other, look out for each other, even if we're upset/annoyed with each other! This really hits me so hard, these poor babies! People don't know their neighbors anymore, though, most don't even speak to each other these days! I always speak or wave to folks in my neighborhood even if I don't have a clue who they are because it's better to be seen as a friendly face. I'm not nosey by any means, but if I ever heard my neighbors' kids screaming like that, best be sure I would call the police on the quick! I do feel sorry for the man and the rest of the complex because that guilt is going to eat them alive...

My daughter screams this every single time I'm about to wash or braid her hair. She hates it. Im gentle as possible but she still screams as if someone is killing her. You have no way of telling what's really going on. Cops would be responding to calls all day of kids simply getying a toy taken away or being put in timeout if someone called every time a child screamed or cried mommy no.
My newborn grandson would cry as if he was in excruciating pain every time he cried. We were all in a panic thinking that he had some kind of internal problem. 😭🙏💝

Most will scream specific things like "I want that" or "give me my game" to get a clear message accross. But when they scream "Mommy No" or "Daddy No", it's likely that mommy or daddy are the ones misbehaving by spanking them, charging at them or doing some other bad stuff. That's not ok.

I understand the comments, but please let me add, that if neighbors start calling the cops everytime they hear children screaming, cops are going to be showing up at ppls homes, during bedtime, meal time, and bath time! Kids screaming doesn't necessarily mean they are being harmed. We've all experienced the sound of a screaming child in a grocery store, restaurant, plane,etc. In this case there was abuse, but that's not always the situation. A little understanding for the neighbors please.
