The fact that the wire doesn't have a single Emmy win is an absolute artistic tragedy. This show is a masterpiece.
What?!😮 That's WILD...smh!🤦🏾♀️
@@CamsPurpleCorner yep not one it was underrated when it aired because the sopranos was on at the same time
how different would life be for you if the wire won a emmy ? 😂😂😂
@@stopabledu Life would be alot different. If the wire won an emmy, it would mean we were living in a version of reality where everything ISN'T rigged.

Fun fact: Michael K. Williams (Omar) met Felicia Pearson (Snoop) in a Baltimore club and later, took her to the set of the Wire to meet the writers and the producers. This is how she got an audition, and subsequently the part of Snoop. I think that's a pretty cool story.
That was a blessing things like that don’t just happen
I heard they where so inpressed by her, the wrote in snoop, she was not in the script before they met her.
@@richardboyd4477
Eh yes, they do just happen.
It's called coincidence
@@ekLuca That's pretty much said in the story how he got in the series, they didn't know her, and if they would have Snoop in the script she most likely would be A) man and B) already casted in the series like everyone else.
Writers do change things all the time, but this was impressive how well everyone did, considering she wasn't actor at all.
Why'd they kill her off in the series I thought she would still be alive today? Or was just the writing?
She wasn’t acting when she played the character snoop, she was being herself.
True
Thomas H 💯
While everyone was getting into character, all she had to do was just talk. Dope.
@Thomas H Not true
I was saying the same thing. Damn that's sad. I hope she was able to move forward from from all that trauma
I always assumed she wasn’t really acting during her time on The Wire. Her performance felt more real than almost everyone on the show.
Bc she was the only authentic G out of the main characters, the rest was real actors
@@Wh4L205 thats not true. what about Deacon?
This show was so ahead of its time. I just finished the series and its the first crime media that made me think of every aspect of a city, the corrupted politics, school systems, the challenges police face to do what seems so simple.
Buy the set if you can.
Highly recommend a rewatch. So many hidden gems will blow your mind.
Yep, just police in the show was not corrupt like in real life in Baltimore...
The school system and education is so awful in America. It’s so sad. Why’s it like this
It's a very broad exploration, yet what made it for me was how real it is, they did a great job with the casting the way it was filmed the acting.. everything.
so weird seeing omar and snoop together without them trying to kill eachother

Season 5 was admittedly poor, but the others were all solid with 4 being the greatest season of tv ever produced.

Michael will forever be remembered as Omar, but let's not forget Chalky in Boardwalk Empire and more recently Montrose in Lovecraft Country. The only silver lining of no second season for Lovecraft is that it won't hurt not to have Michael there.

My mom wanted a better life so she worked during the day and went to night school to become a registered nurse now how many people that live in the Baltimore area just stay on their 4 block radius? The reason why The Wire had such a good cast was because it was never about fiction. That show wanted nothing but show things as they are in Baltimore, and it´s characters look so so genuine because they´re telling us their story.
