    This is heartbreaking and I am so sorry they had to go through this. none of it was okay.
    Doctors are being forced to go against their hypocritical oath to do no harm or face criminal charges. By the doctor discharging her he was potentially putting her in grave danger but I can't blame the doctor because the laws have criminalized doctors following their oath to do no harm. Until every lawmaker that votes on these kinds of laws has a doctorate in medicine they need to stay out of this.
    No 1 realizes that not only is this not okay and not fair to the woman it is also not okay and not fair to the doctors especially especially especially because the laws are so vague they don't constitute when a woman's life is in danger there's too much of a gray area there so the doctors are forced to err on the side of caution as they do not face losing their medical license and being criminally charged. This is not fair this is not okay and if it keeps up soon there's not going to be any doctors practicing obstetrics and gynecology.
    Let me remind everyone that no one want an abortion especially if it is a wanted pregnancy they don't want their child to have a congenital or fatal fetal abnormality so severe that the most humane and best option for all involved is termination. No doctor wants to tell their patients that termination is the best thing or sometimes the only thing that's going to save a mother's life. No one wants to be in a position or termination is their only option. No one wants an abortion.

      Tell me this... who is more likely to be right? a doctor who is educated in and practicing medicine or a politician with no medical degree no training whatsoever and no experience in practicing medicine?
      Medicine is not a precise science sometimes doctors get it wrong but they use the knowledge they have and the resources available to them and they make the best decision based on both their experience and their expert knowledge. The next time you go into the emergency room for let's say a broken bone or you are in a car accident you may have internal bleeding would you want a doctor treating you or a politician? Next time god forbid you have to have surgery you want a surgeon coming in and telling you what they think is best and what procedure is going to be best to treat you or do you want a congressman preparing to do your surgery?
      Doctors are being forced to go against their better judgment and wait until these women's lives are to the point where they can't always be brought back. That is terrifying not only for the women but for the doctors as well. But the lawmakers have decided that they can play god when they have no experience and no knowledge of medicine whatsoever but yet they decided they will dictate what decisions doctors make so next time you or a loved 1 are in the emergency room needing emergency treatment you tell me if you a politician working on you or a doctor.

I found out at 17 weeks (at monthly appointment) that my baby had died at 13 weeks. I had an inkling something was wrong when I went in. I did not have a miscarriage and had to have a D&C. How is it reasonable to have politicians play doctor? Do they get to decide the level of risk or how close a woman must be to death in order to get an abortion? These bans are absurd.
      Here's the deal: What's going on in red states is government mandated forced-birth. Abortion bans place women, by accident of their biology, in permanently and irrevocably subordinate positions to the unborn. It gives an embryo or fetus a right no other born and breathing person has- a right to force someone else to use their body to keep it alive. This is a clear violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amend., right to privacy, and discrimination based on sex. The Constitution doesn't mention the unborn at all, let alone grant them any rights and abortion is not included in federal homicide statutes- hence, it is not murder.

      They may not disclose the answers to your question but I am curious to see how this turned out as well. I posed this question to you and it is an honest question when your water broke at 19 weeks what did your doctor recommend did you seek a 2nd opinion and if so what did they recommend? And I recommend I mean what were all of the options that were given to you?

      I also agree that her feelings and fears were valid but I found it odd that she spoke about the situation like they literally told her she would die. For sure it would be scary either way but the potential vs a death sentence are very different situations. Lol I’m sorry but I chuckled when she said she went to her hair appointment. If a doctor told me things could go bad and end in death then I’d want to be close as possible to the hospital. It could literally save me and my baby.

      @@calijguyman So, compromising a woman's life is okay with you as long as she doesn't die? It sounds like you've got a narrative of your own going on, one that supports forcing pregnant women to give birth. Abortion bans are unconstitutional, as the Constitution doesn't mention the unborn at all, let alone grant a fertilized egg, embryo or fetus any rights.

    This is clearly on the doctors if they don't treat her. Florida law is clear that you can perform an induction to protect the life and physical health of the mother. Even Texas put it into law that Premature Rupture of Membranes constitutes grounds for induction and doctors cannot be liable for that. Seems clear this is on the doctors. Also, she turned out fine

      That's the problem see that is the problem there's so much gray area on at what point is a woman's life in danger and that's exactly what this was about because she wasn't knocking on death's door they couldn't perform the procedure. The doctors are forced to go against everything they know all of their experience and their hippocratical oath to do no harm. If they don't then they're facing the criminal charges and the loss of their medical license. The laws are way too vague there's too much gray area they are way too vague this is not fair this is not fair to women this is not fair to doctors

    • @josephplayspickleball
      @josephplayspickleball Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@tss9886 the laws seem clear to me. The doctor has to make a reasonable decision that the life or substantial health is at risk. If not, you shouldn't be getting an abortion for convenience. The state specifically wants doctors to decide. Not judges. I think it's only "ambiguous" because people are trying to get abortions under pretences that are not truly life threatening.
