My parents are 67 and 70 respectively and still hiking up mountains all over the world. My grandparents are in their 90s and still mobile, mentally sharp, and independent. You can absolutely still be active and healthy at those ages, and being an older first-time parent doesn't mean your kids will have to take care of you in their 20s. If you make the effort to look after your health, chances are your family will be just like any other, just with longer generations.

I'm 51 and almost 32 weeks pregnant with twins (boy/girl). As she said, all you need is a healthy uterus and of course not have any major health issues. I got pregnant on my 2nd try. I'll deliver January 2020 when I'm 52. Good luck to all trying for a miracle. I'm happy to share information with anyone interested. I went abroad to a beautiful country where IVF is affordable as the prices in the US were scary expensive.

@@becibabe7364 why not? It's possible . Women in my family have had children in their 50s. I know plenty of women who had babies in their 40s naturally. IVF isn't cheap by far.
Anybody living in the western world like Canada n u.s. are more exposed to a toxic life food, air, water, pharmaceutical drugs, negative thoughts, systemic problems, careers , higher stress levels , media. Naturally it takes its toll. Women in ther 20s are not as fertile as decades ago. Think about it and dodge the westernized way of thinking.
In Chinese medicine fertility is said to stop at 49. 14 years more than 35 which the west claims.
35 because of all the crap women girls are exposed to.
Whereas people living in even poverty stricken countries or rural communities may have not as much in material luxury or access to medical , education and political power. Yet they do far better being mother's at a later stage of child bearing years.

@@electroskates2434 for me, at 60, is definitely too late. Unfortunately, when I was younger, surrogacy laws made it illegal, plus it's super expensive. Adoption, while I'd have had no qualms going that route, also is not the quick and easy solution one might think. Children where I am are not readily available. Single mothers receive govt support so very few relinquish their babies. Plus by the time I discovered I couldn't have children, and the wait time, I would have been too old. If I'd had the funds I'd have tried to adopt overseas. Thanks for the suggestions, but I've considered all my options. There were none other than having my own. And that wasn't to be.

Tbh I can't stand this dumb mentality in society as if you're older than the hills once we reach 40! What is with that???!.. we are built to have babies up until 55 yrs old. When your 72 your child will be 22 yrs old will be a young adult capable of looking after themselves , and still Theresa good 20 plus years to go .. not everyone just shrivels up. My parents are 78 and 74 and are still so healthy and young they exercise, eat well have a great outlook on life they are so young in many ways.. being in your 70's isn't old. I think choosing a number and saying that's it I'm old , you will become old! No matter what number that is. Enjoy your child as the happy loving mum, you are enjoy your life, it's super exciting 💕

Yes!! Some men think nothing of wasting a decade of your life. I have a girlfriend who had fibroids that were so severe that she had to be hospitalized because they caused her to bleed so heavily they endangered her life. Her obgyn told her if she wanted a baby, she had to decide asap to have one. But her boyfriend at the time would not commit to her. 15 years later, he still never committed and she has no children.

All doctors should be as encouraging as the one that she met. Miracle can happen :)
