Avatar: The Way of Water is a 2022 American epic science fiction film directed and produced by James Cameron. He co-wrote the screenplay with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver from a story the trio wrote with Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno. Distributed by 20th Century Studios, it is the sequel to Avatar (2009) and the second installment in the Avatar film series. Cast members Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Giovanni Ribisi, Dileep Rao, and Matt Gerald reprise their roles from the original film, with Sigourney Weaver returning in an additional role[6] while Kate Winslet joined the cast. It follows a blue-skinned humanoid Na'vi named Jake Sully (Worthington) as he and his family, under renewed human threat, seek refuge with the aquatic Metkayina clan of Pandora, a habitable exomoon on which they live.

My theater started clapping and cheering for payakan when he cut his hand off
He'll be back as stated by his actor.
Probably become Captain Ahab archetype, who had vendetta against a whale for taking his limb off (plus equivalent exchange since it is implied that he slaughtered Payakan's mom, took out one of his fins, and the Na'vi warriors that led him to become an outcast).
That whole arm went flying was funny that was definitely revenge

The craziest thing about this? Payakan knew how to bait humans into taking a shot that would inconvenience them and knew he could use the cable to wreck them.
Makes me wonder how brutal their territorial war/slaughter had been. Like orcas with military training.
His bond with Loak and past experience with the hunters probably gave him the knowledge

Ohhhhhh!! I got it now! Payakan lost his fin years ago from when he was a calf and lost his mom to those heartless and terrible hunters. And now years later, he’s returned the vengeful favor on one the RDA crew hunter by using the cable to slice off his own arm!! Now that’s Badass!! ✨😁😁
I wish there would’ve been a scene of Payakan swimming next to the screeching and one armed bleeding man. The giant would give a death glare at the helpless man and to look at his own missing fin.
When the hunter looked at the missing fin, he would’ve connected the dots that this alien whale is the same one that he tried to kill years ago and I bet Payakan‘s thought was “Now we’re even.” Before he crushed the puny little man with his jaws, chomping on him brutally before he spit out his hideously mangled body out into the water.

The scientists (and Spyder) are pretty much the only humans worthy of living on Pandora and being accepted by the Na’Vi. Garvin would probably join the water tribes to study the Tulkun without any intention of harming them.
Honestly, I hope he gets a happy ending. He deserves better.
Except when Spider saves Quaritch from drowning. He literally heard Quaritch say he’s gonna hunt Jake down and kill his family (including Kiri and Lo’ak), but Spider still saves him.🤷🏽♀️
Can someone lend this guy a hand? He'd give his right arm to go to war on Pandora. He is fully armed and dangerous. He always kept friends and enemies at arm's length. He was disarmed in the armistice at the end of the war. Right shoulder arms! Left shoulder arms!

humans are not only the intelligent species they coordinate they share knowledge and combine to make something far greater think it this way Let's suppose you are in a jungle what good your intelligence is when you can't survive there without proper knowledge same is there this is the territory of that magnificent creature

1:20 orkas actually recently have started to do this. If there’s a boat that has been messing with their hunting area they’ll just jump on it and sink it. They’re super intelligent and don’t play around with their territory

So intense emotional and such a great sad story what is so real. The mpvie show me how bad we are with our home (Earth) we don t respect the nature and other animals.... sad
Maybe this time Earth couldn't fight back. But Pandora fought back like Earth on other movies.
I remember gasping so hard in the theater while covering my mouth in shock the first time I saw his hand cuts off and I was like "The fuck!? WTF?!". I can feel the impact that hits me so hard when I first saw this scene! Ouch!

I am going to reflect upon a story element that not everyone catches , Payakan had his left front fin amputated by human whalers in his past conflict with them, Lo'ak recognises this Trauma when they first meet.. it is a sublime story element, but a point was made to point this out..

There isn’t a single drop of blood that goes flying. Blood squirting out of a wound is not allowed even once, with some weird loopholes.
Like in Bloodshot they were able to do it by having everything in the shot be the same color as the blood.
