I was in college during the whole OJ Simpson circus. I cannot even imagine the media insanity should something like that happen today with the amount of media saturation we have now.

The woman doesn’t realize that the judge has just done her a huge favor. He removed the attorney that doesn’t know his job.

Defendants are the ones to suffer when an attorney doesn't do what he is suppose to do! The removal of the attorney was justified. Judge Slaven is a no nonsense, hard ass judge who gives the good attorneys candy!😁 Thank you for the video, you always come up with some good ones.

Ive paid for an attorney and the attorney he sent in his place didn't even show up. The case was thrown out however for another reason but in some sense I spent 1500 bucks for nothing
@@robertbeck1922 you obviously have no idea how an appellate court works.
The judge is trying to ensure she has “effective assistance of counsel”, which is her constitutional right. Plus when the lawyer admitted on the record he wasn’t as experienced as other attorneys on this type of matter, that further cemented the judge’s decision.

lmao no matter how experienced someone is, they are always going to be less experienced than someone else.
Judges get very annoyed when an attorney waits until the day of the trial, when the jury has already been chosen and at the courtroom, to request a competency hearing (when the attorney had a full year to do so).
Yeah, if a court calls a jury and a trial or last minute plea deal doesn't happen, judges usually get REALLY mad. Screws up lots of people's schedules and wastes lots of time on busy court calendars.

In fact, the Judge held the attorney accountable and removed him from the case based on circumstance.

She clearly doesn't understand the big picture. A judge doing what's right for the claimant is such an amazing thing.
They don't care, they just want it over with. Regardless of what the outcome is, they only care about it being done so that they can go back to do the wrong thing again.

OMG, THANK YOU for doing this clip. I tried watching on a different channel yesterday but she wouldn't shut up thru it and her volume was at least 4 times what the clip is so all we could hear was her. That's why the OSG channel is 1 of the top "court" channels out there.

Thank God a judge finally holds an attorney responsible or the ENDLESS delays they cause! It inevitably is "we need more time to do A,B,C" even after 5-10 delays lasting over a year. We see this in both criminal AND civil litigation.
It's also necessary to protect the right of the defendant to have adequate counsel.
If the Judge would be in the wrong you'd be jumping on the Attorneys side. Love your type.

How tf is he amazing? He's punishing the defendant based on a personal annoyance. Sanction the attorneys, don't remove them against the wishes of the defendant. Gross misconduct and he handed them an easy appeal.

Finally seeing a Judge putting lawyers in their place!! It had been 1 year or two? She told the Judge that she was not getting new attorneys, excuse me, but you don't tell the Judge what to do! I would not want to put my future in those lawyers hands. If she lost her case, she could say it was her attorneys were incompetent! Way to go Sir!

This is a real judge. He is holding the attorneys accountable for their actions. I love it. She only wants it over, and that is how people get in trouble. Especially bad attorneys. He comes unprepared for her court appearance, how ridiculous is that.
A judge who makes sure that "the people" are properly protected from the system! I'd give him an award if he wasn't already earning big money. But I'd damn well want to shake his hand!!!

Judge just literally said the attorney is not competent to run a trial. Im surprised the judge didnt appoint a supervising attorney instead. Switching counsel at such a late point in proceedings is throwing a big spanner in the works and isnt taking the mental health of the defendant into account.
The female Attorney is so incompetent she doesn't understand how offensive it is to the Judge to state the defendant should be asked if she wants the Attorneys removed.
You just don't do that in court, the judge has already made their decision.

The defendant was emotionally harmed by her court appointed attorney and she can now sue him for damages and prevail..... she should say nothing as the Judge is already on her side as her lawyer phucked her over .... if she speaks on the record she is most likely going to incriminate herself as she now has been too emotionally damaged by her own attorney's screw ups

As a parent, a judge, a teacher, a professor, you sometimes have to do something to protect or help another person, even if that person cannot see it’s for his/her own good. Respect.
I seriously doubt that a public defender will protect this defendant better than her present attorney. While she needs a trial lawyer, the judge is forcing her to accept a lawyer who, like most public defenders, is only experienced with pleading guilty.
@@MrRobertX70I believe the one the Judge shitcanned was a PD. She looks like she doesn’t have a pot to piss in, I sincerely doubt she hired her own counsel. Additionally, the court wouldn’t remove a private attorney and insist the defendant take a PD, that makes 0 sense.
