- No one was more caught off guard by the Dallas Cowboys' playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers than owner Jerry Jones. He took time to express his concerns with the Cowboys in a recent interview, but the elephant in the room remains Mike McCarthy’s future as head coach. There has been speculation that Jerry Jones could offer Dan Quinn the head coach position to prevent his defensive coordinator from taking another job elsewhere. As a Cowboys fan, I am awfully sick of hearing about this mediocre team. They are not gonna win it all no matter what they do.
From one Cowboy fan to another, its going to get worse. The money being paid to Dak, Zeke, Dlaw, and Coop is about $95m/year, which is over 1/3 of the cap, and means we aren’t going to be able to sign young talent coming off rookie contracts, like Pollard and Gallop. They are going to have to cut Zeke. Unfortunately we’re stuck with Dak

The Cowboys need a coaching staff that will hold their players accountable for all of their idiotic penalties. Quinn is a good DC but i don't think he's a disciplinarian.

I don't think Quinn is a HC. Some people just aren't good HCs. Nothing wrong with that. I always point to Wade Phillips. If you list the greatest DCs of all time it doesn't take long to get to his name. He's one of the best ever. As a HC he was terrible and I'm being kind. Quinn is a pretty good DC and a pretty bad HC. Skip better be careful what he asks for he just might get it. Skip loved McCarthy once too:)

Replacing Mike McCarthy with the guy who was up 28-3 in the Super Bowl would be such a Cowboys thing to do.
Meanwhile, Jim Caldwell, who took the friggen LIONS to the playoffs 2/3 years, (and went to a Super Bowl with Peyton, and won a SB as OC for Baltimore in 2012) isn’t even a coordinator.

They got better, they took several steps forward, but when you're coming from where they were you still need time for it to all come together. In Mike McCarthy's last season as the Packers head coach in 2018, Green Bay went 6-9-1 and Aaron Rodgers played all 16 games.

Dan Quinn is a great defensive coordinator but an average head coach. Once Shanahan left as the Falcons offensive coordinator the falcons for the head coaching job at San Francisco the Falcons became mediocre again. So the thing is Quinn will have to have a strong offensive coordinator coach in order for him to succeed as a head coach. Side note just found out Sean Payton is not going back to the Saints. That’s the coach the Cowboys should want.

In my opinion. If Mike stays as the HC. I think Quinn will stay. Not for Mike or Jerry. I think he stays for Parsons. This a young guy I can build around. Even Diggs. Quinn as a great defense. Just a little fixing here and there but overall they are a great young defense.

Problem with Dallas is no heart and grit in the playoffs. There is no REAL leadership in that locker room. It's a party atmosphere with that franchise and it always has been.

They took the ball away 4 times from the saints offense and then HAD TO OVERCOME 3 INTs from Tom Brady to beat the packer in the NFC championship game. THEN THEY WENT ON TO HOLD ONE OF THE GREATEST OFFENSES EVER TO 9 POINTS. 9 points!!!!! The KC Chiefs historically great offense was held to 9 pts. You know what does that a GREAT DEFENSE. Do you need more examples?

Overtime rules do not need to be changed. It forces everyone on the field to make a game winning play, if not... you lose.

The way things are going these rules will be changed sooner then later, No complains in the NBA or European football about OT or ET but here we are in the NFL and it's a big debate. Won't be surprised if they just give and extra full quarter to play in OT in the future.
