      Good morning, Angela. I'm glad you like my videos!
      I'm not sure where to buy Red Heart Super Saver Stripes in the UK (it's a 100% acrylic yarn). I did a quick search and found some Etsy shops that carry this yarn in the Polo Stripes colorway (the pink purple color in the video). You might try one of them. Here are links to those 2 shops/listings:

      I hope this helps!
      As far as a matching hat pattern for this scarf pattern, I don't have one at this time. I have several other hat and scarf patterns available on my website, www.TheCrochetArchitect.com. Those are my Easy Rainbow Hat and Scarf and my Scafie, Cowlie and Hattie patterns. I don't currently have my Easy Rainbow Hat and Scarf available as a set (they're separate patterns), but if you're interested in purchasing those 2 patterns, please let me know and I'll make a special discount code for you to use on my website to purchase both $4.95 patterns for just $7.95.
      Merry (Happy) Christmas to you and Happy Crocheting!

    Can I use this pattern to make a blanket? I am very much a beginner, never having even picked up a crochet hook. Thank you for your reply.

    • @TheCrochetArchitect
      @TheCrochetArchitect  Před rokem +1

      Yes. You can make a blanket with rows of dc stitches. I would strongly suggest making a scarf first so you can practice holding the hook and yarn, making your chains and dc stitches properly, making sure you have the same number of dc in each row and keeping the edges even. The biggest mistake beginners make is at the beginning or end of their dc rows.
      After practicing on a scarf, you can definitely crochet a blanket with this pattern. You'll need much more yarn, of course. You can make the blanket any number of stitches wide and any number of rows high (as long as you have enough yarn for that size blanket).
      The amount of yarn you'll need will be dependent on the size blanket you want to make. A baby blanket will take about 1,000 yards of worsted weight yarn and a full size blanket will take about 2,000 yards of worsted weight yarn. Since different skeins/brands of yarn have different yardages, you'll have to decide how many skeins you'll need to purchase. Or you can use leftovers and change colors whenever you want to make a scrappy looking blanket!
      If you use worsted weight yarn and a size I or J hook, you might want to aim for around 132 chains to have a total of 130 dc in each row (about 40" wide). To figure the number of foundation chains to work for a different width blanket, multiply the width measurement you want by 13 stitches, then divide by 4 inches (and add 2 more for the turning chain at the beginning of Row 1). For instance, 40" x 13 stitches divided by 4" = 130 +2 = 132 chains.
      I hope this helps!
      Happy crocheting to you!
      Susan

    How can you on do the scarf

    • @TheCrochetArchitect
      @TheCrochetArchitect  Před 2 lety

      If you're asking how to "undo" the scarf (rip out the stitches), you simply pull the tail out of the last stitch you worked on the last row and start undoing the stitches from the end of each row to the beginning of each row. You finish off at the end of the scarf by pulling the yarn through the last loop that was on your hook, so that's the end you want to start removing the stitches from. If you've already woven in your ends, you'll have to try to unweave the tail at the end of the scarf before ripping out your stitches. Some yarn is easy to rip out stitches and other yarn catches on itself when you rip out the stitches, so you have to rip them out slowly and carefully.
      I hope this answers your question clearly. Happy crocheting you you, Sarita!
