I saw Mr. Thompson in Greensboro NC around 2007 or 8? After the show, I got in line to meet my hero and have him autograph my ticket. When I finally got to him I didn’t know what to say. I said something like “ Mr Thompson, I think you’re the bees knees.” He laughed and said, “ no darling, I am only one of the bees knees, you are the other.” I stumbled away, having been kissed by my guitar hero.l LOVE RICHARD!!!!!!!!!
He always has the best band because only the best can keep up with him. All his configurations through the years have been great. The trio format really highlight the rock.
When that first electric guitar solo comes in I just can't help but express my amazement with endless expletives.
First time I've seen...or heard Richard Thompson. A great musician...and someone who has TRULY got his feet very solidly on the ground. If he's ever in my neck of the woods I will DEFINITELY be buying tickets to see his show.
Michael Jerome is an incredible drummer. deep pockets.
Seeing the amplifier with glowing green "magic eye" behind Richard at 16: 44 makes me think of his classic tune "Calvary Cross" with the line "I've watched you with my one green eye for some time now/ and I'll hurt you 'til you need me...."

The audio drops out completely from 7:20 to 10:00 when Richard is singing "I want to see the bright lights tonight" during soundcheck. Is this to avoid a copywrite strike?
That's a good question. In the original cut it does not do this. I have no idea why it was cut.
Chuck Berry sang "we were reelin, reelin and rockin' ", but was he really? 🤔😉
