Completely in love with this documentary, I keep coming back to it. I adore the work of Herzog and the musicians but really, the way Richard Thompson can take a nuanced essence of a feeling from Werner and improvise something profoundly moving only to redo it with a requested vague modification and keep it to 34 seconds is astonishing. Richard Thompson tries to joke and laugh to hide his genius but there's a spiritual connection with nature and magic when he plays like this.
