Didn’t PSA say the same dang thing last year about grader notes! I’m not holding my breath
We need PSA and SGC grader notes! So many head scratchers with my cards!
I'm interested in the definitive tax guide for reporting card transactions. For example, I bought a 1957 Mantle 65 years ago for 75 cents and a frog. I recently had it graded as an 1.5. If I sell it for $300 how is it report on my taxes ? I have had thousands of dollars of purchases over the years, without any selling.
If that’s the only sale, it’s under the minimum required to report. You’ll need to know what you paid for your product if you intend to deduct that from profits after a sale is the general answer once yours sale reach enough to qualify.
@@cardboardcheddah3715 I hoped that all buys this year would offset all sales this year. Similar to expenses/cost of goods sold offsetting income in other businesses. The card example sounds like it would be a capital gain.

Grader Notes? Ha Ha. They know the collector base wants it, but then again... does the investor base? Parsing their words for both parties is a scam of a system IMO. I think they may be taking notes from the TAG system and the fact that nobody really has a bad word to say about them. Value might not be there for TAG, but the transparency is becoming pretty transparent that it's needed and warranted. PSA is taking "NOTES".

Collector's talks about cost savings, the consumer will see that cost savings passed down... right? RIGHT?!

Grader's notes could be a double edge sword.. the submitter can see why the card got a 9 or an 8. They could possibly crack the card out and try to clean/fix the card of those blemishes and go after that 10. On the other side, this adds accountability to PSA, they now have to explain what was wrong with the card if they say, the bottom left corner has a crease and there's no crease you can go back and say, what are you talking about I want this regraded because there's no crease. Or did a grader call out some super minor issue just because they have to even out their grade average for the day. (If they give out too many 10's they'll have to go to the principal's office!)

If a card gets "cleaned " and nothing happens to the card in 20 years slabbed is it still a issue? ...dont know but its starting to feel like you work for Psa ? The way you talk and back them ... i would not be the least surprised if later there outed on a scandel that they get payed under the table to give high grades on cards. There's a opportunist in every profession
