Far from making my first beat; however, I went from stubbornly refusing to use anything higher than 9, and when I moved to 21 last week I was lost. You're a real one for these videos.

Hello - what controller should I get as a newbie in FL? I have the MPC Studio 2 but have yet to get into it. Will that work with FL? I can still exchange it for something else per your recommendation. Something under $300? Looking forward to learning from you.

I would say start with a 49 key controller. Look into a novation controller, or any akai controller. This one is good and it connects directly with FL Studio. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LaunchK3-49--novation-launchkey-49-mk3-49-key-keyboard-controller

Are there any specific settings or like snap or something it should be on specific for hip hop & boom bap?

nah, I usually keep the snap set to "Line" or off. And move things as I hear. but to answer your question, I would say 1/4 step if you really need to set it to something.
