    I started out on FL (fruity loops) back in the day along with cool edit pro! Shout out Peter Quistgard! But once I got my first MP I was hooked to hardware. Something about clicking plastic buttons hitting pads and turning knobs just adds the emotion to your track. It’s a vibe for sure!! It’s like driving a stick shift, you become one with the machine by that physical touch. It’s beautiful!!!

      Oh man - you took the words out my mouth! Yep! That’s the best way to describe going with analog/hardware…it’s literally like going with a manual car - best feeling ever! It’s one of those things people have to experience atlease once to get an understanding 💯💯💯

    Started out in FL around 2000, got an MPC100 around 2002. After 20 years, I'm finally digging deeper into the MPC because I like the hands on at this point in my life. Thanks for the comparison! 🔥

    love the video. my first ever software was FL 3 (yea...i'm old!) and Cool Edit Pro. Loved that setup until I switched to the mpc 2000xl and never looked back. You got that ear though -- anything you make will sound fresh.

    I started out on hardware back to the MPC 60, Sp1200,S950,808 Sp12,DMX and DX.I had these units when they were released the whole thing boils down to, if you know how hardware sounds and your use to using it you should be able to make your sound translate to whatever your using because you have a reference from your ears. If you have a bunch of beats you done and put them into wav files and you can’t remember what you used to make them, then you did your job💪🏿💪🏿👍🏿👍🏿

    Fl is like making frys with the skin pilled off the potatoe. The mp is like having frys with the potato skin on both good some people dont like the grittyness tho

  • @KnowledgeOfSelf144

    You mention dynamic range. I feel like the newer mpcs have a higher dynamic range, which makes it more cleaner. Which is not bad but like you said the coloring is different. Just coming into the mpc I’ve noticed that. The ears don’t lie. That’s why experienced mpc users use the older models esp with “boom bap.” Knew i wasn’t crazy lol. Older mpc mixed with outboard processing gear is undefeated imo. Dope vid.
    PS Ironically I would prefer to produce 808 trap beats in FL Studio 😬☺️👍🏾

    If you love colour and warmth you need some old akai gear, S950 is the cream of the crop imho (especially when you adjust the pitch). You can sequence it from your MP too.

    • @bonafidebeatz20
      @bonafidebeatz20  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yep that S950 is the holy grail when it comes to warmth. Definitely want one of those for sure

    • @Harzurner
      @Harzurner Před 2 měsíci

      @bonafidebeatz20 It'd also look pretty sweet on your desk! I've used one with an mpc, can confirm it works just like it's the sampler and outputs of the mpc via midi with the mpc as sequencer. I actually prefer the S950 to the 60, it has more features, too, the variable sample rate, expandable memory, time stretch and the possibility of multiple timbral make the S950 much more desired than the S900, the 900 is a bit of a faff despite what he hipsters say to palm it off on you, the 950 is absolutely killer though!

    • @boomboombaby9140
      @boomboombaby9140 Před měsícem

      Mpc software and use compressor vintage turn the knob at the very bottom that’s on the right , don’t touch nothing else and your beat will knock like a old school mpc .

    • @Harzurner
      @Harzurner Před měsícem

      @@boomboombaby9140 Not true, I'm talking about interpolation and also DAC, the S950 also has an analog filter, unique time stretch algorithm and aggressive analog clipping on the input when using mic input for line. None of this has anything to do with compression. Some silly little plugin imitating a rack compressor will not give you anything close.

    Totally Like The FL Sound Better, But its Nothing Better Than Creating The Beat With The MPC... It's More Of A Playing The INSTRUMENT FEEL. That's Why I Create The Song (Instrumental Parts) Inside My MPC Then Bounce The WAV Stems Into FL 21 To Master... FYI, Now That I Have IZOTOPE'S OZONE 11, I Can Now Just Bounce A Stereo 2 TRK WAV File Into FL, Then Let The A.i. Inside Ozone 11 Do Its Thing, Then Once I Make A Few Minor Adjustments to Tighten Up The Base or Widen A Particular Sound, Then Insure it All Stay's in The Genre Of The LUFS...-9.5 For Hip Hop, I Can Then Either Leave as Is And Export It Out To WAV & MP3 Files Or I Can Add A GullFoss Master On The Master Output Tree After The OZONE Then Tweak to Taste, and WHAHLAH ! I Am Never Disappointed With The Results.

    • @bonafidebeatz20
      @bonafidebeatz20  Před 6 měsíci +1

      you nailed it...on the mpc theres nothing better than creating on it. FL got its perks too tho. But yea that Isotope AI is serious.

      @@bonafidebeatz20I have a MPC 2000xl I also produce using the MPC software. I don’t know why but if you use the vintage mpc 3000 effect and use the compressor vintage effect and turn bottom knob on the right all of your instruments will balance out and your drums will hit harder and it sound like my MPC 2000xl . If I produce in FL i drag the beat into MPC software and use the MPC compressor because your beat will know like classic dr. Dre , timberland , jermaine duplicate quality. I have a ton of compressor on FL but nothing came stack up to the sound the MPC software gives you .
