  • After some time enjoying my ITB Standalone ECU M30B35 Swapped BMW E28 528e Ive been able to reflect on if this extensive and expensive swap was really worth it. In this video I run down just how expensive this build actually was, as well as discuss my regrets and what I would change if I was to do it all over again.

      I completely agree with @levibeatson3247. And the models you choose to work on are a little bit more obscure in comparison to other bmw youtubers - (e28, e34, e32, etc). Super detailed and informative... that's why we are all here. Please keep it coming brother! Love from Bali, Indonesia.

    As you said, live and learn. It’s always the destination it’s the journey. When you step back focus on all you learned. Electrical trouble shooting alone is worth it down the road. A wise man once told me it’s okay to make plans but don’t plan on the results. Cheers my friend!! George

    Great, realistic feedback Josh! The ITBs can definitely be finicky sometimes, but once its dialed in the sound and throttle response really shines. If you havent ported the heads for additional flow, a fair amount of power gain is left out. Otherwise, thank you for the video.

Thanks for documenting this project and sharing your final thoughts with all of us. You did an especially good job on this one!

    Love it or not, still a masterpiece. You busted your ass and spent a bunch of hours just on that build but in the end, you did learned a lot and so did we, your viewers. Thanx for the knoledge shared. My question is, does the humidity and air conditions afect the ITB's? I think it does because its a carburator thing. Whoever buys it just needs bumper changes, paint, and another set of rims and that's it. Thanx again for your content Josh.

    • @m3nameisjosh464
      @m3nameisjosh464  Před 7 měsíci

      Thanks Juan! You are right! I learned a lot and hopefully you guys did too. I do believe that humidity and air conditions effect this setup because the IAT sensor is so important for it

    I think you would have better outcomes if you had the carbon air box that come with. ITb is definitely better than the stock intake but the stacks is the problem and there’s a whole world of calculations behind them. I also think that when you rebuilt the head if you ported&polished a little bit aggressively matched with the not so aggressive cam You can wake up that engine and use the itb more efficiently.
    Like mentioned tuners also favor standalone ECU setup plus drive by wire throttle pedal and actuators to help with drivability and reliability factors. Thats gonna be my route with the s52 with s54 itb + turner carbon box.

    • @m3nameisjosh464
      @m3nameisjosh464  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I think you are 10000% correct. Plenum has no possibility of fitting on this car unfortunately so it wasn't even an option. Porting the head would have been a good idea but was getting burnt out and expensive!

    ive heard similar things about alpha-n tunes w/ aftermarket csl style carbon intakes on s54s, amazing sound, amazing when right but the tune cant calibrate to any different setting like the stock car running the maf sensor or the oem csl running a map.
