I stumbled upon this video a long time ago and I'm intrigued by this board game. 3 years ago, I finally bought Tokaido and I watched this video again to teach my friends. I now collect board games, this is my origin story. Thank you Rodney.

Your animated intro for Tokaido is really good - probably the best intro yet.
Tokaido (東海道) means "east highway" in Japanese.

First actually helpful tutorial Ive seen on youtube. I came here with no knowledge on this game and Im leaving confidently enought I think i could explain it to a 5yr old. Every question I had was answered immediately as i thought of it.

I bought this at the UK Games Expo at the weekend - it sold really well! A random gamer spotted me with it and said he had watched this very video series of the game! Watching a few of these videos ( I watched the first two or three to get a good enough idea) convinced me this is a game for me. Won my first game today! Great video as always! The game title screen made me feel like the traveler. Seems like a very straightforward game, clean mechanics, awesome theme. I can picture a bunch of ronin telling each other stories at the inn about the route.
I love the box art. Beauty in simplicity. So many have garish over the top art.

So glad I found this video. So many of the reviews for the game get the rules of the game wrong when they are explaining it. One of the reviewers stated you only draw one souvenir card instead of three and made it appear like you don't have to stop at an inn.

Hi Rodney, another great job on the videos!! The how to play instructions were very clear. I went ahead and bought this game along with 7 Wonders and Legendary after watching your videos. The play through videos are fun as well as helpful to watch too. FINALLY Got myself a copy of this one. Ever have one of those games you keep wanting to get but somehow slips your mind when the new hotness game comes out? Then once the shine wears off you go oh yeah I wanted to get X.... This is that game for me. Playig on Saturday and can't wait.

I'm not as much of a miniatures fan, so I'm glad to see a euro-style game this time around. This looks very unique and oozing with theme. Might be just me, but it's feeling a bit like Mario Party -- without total randomness.
I enjoyed the video, and look forward to watching you play. I was fortunate enough to get a copy from Essen, and am always sad that it doesn't hit the table as often as I'd like it to.
The board is simple but gorgeous, the art on the cards is gorgeous as well. I've been on the fence about this game but I think I'm leaning more towards purchasing it. Again, thanks for putting out these videos, they really do make it easier to decide what I want and what I do not.

Nice, it's a worker placement game with only one worker. I love the intro you created for Tokaido. It could use a longer fade in for this video though.
