Presidential Assassination Attempts - Asking The Obvious Drone Questions

- We are living in horrible and perilous times. So many questions being asked on the Trump Assassination Attempt. But the questioners are not posing what may seem obvious.....Drones (?!) Even 3 or 4 unarmed drones could have disrupted the shooter with 70 mph flybys or even impacts on gun, scope, hands or eyes... No one needed to have been hurt or killed. The Secret Service needs to do a better job protecting all major politcal figures. Please say it ain't so....
Common sense is gone.
Biden is proof of that.

The first story I saw on this incident showed an aerial photo of the site, with an arrow pointing to the shooter’s location and another to the stage where Trump was standing. Moving back in time before the incident to the most elementary evaluation of this location, it is inconceivable that a roof with an unobstructed view above the stage would not be at least under constant observation, with access to it denied, and simple prudence dictating that it be occupied by security personnel. The world wonders….
Not sure of what happened at the Butler, PA rally, but my son in law was a cop at the Chesapeake, VA rally the day before. They had drones in the air up to 15 minutes before the rally began. Then all drones were called down and the Secret Service began their jamming operation to prevent incoming drones.

To answer your question, as a former security agent who was (not secret service) but worked in the private sector. The reason they do not use drones, is because all locations of a president, ex president, presidential candidate are always marked as a no fly zone which has been extended to drones after a drone was used to penetrate The White House grounds (air space). Similar reason to that of why vehicular traffic was stopped for a large section of Pennsylvania Ave in Washington DC. You put a drone up in the air as surveillance it could be mistaken as a security threat. Just look at what drones are doing to tanks in Ukraine, and you will understand.
@GenderSkins - so what you are really saying is that US security forces are not competent enough to find a way to use this relatively new technology in a safe and effective manner.

House Speaker Johnson asked the same questions right after the shooting.
From what I know they disable (by jamming)all drone frequencies to prevent drone attacks. There is a company that developed a cable tethered drone just for that purpose. For some reason they are not using it.

@CitizenSoldier500 - Did you use any drone survellance - eye in the sky? If no, why not - in light of the superior elevation views that would have been provided - see Ukraine? Winning is all about knowing. To not take advantage of drone tech is derilection of duty. Drones are high resolution, reliable, distance and speed. Plus, they can swarm, confuse, distract and prevent badness without killing the bad guy. If they had drones, they would have to answer as how they were deployed and used. No fly drone zones - irrelevent when it comes to protecting a high official - variances would be enforced.

Some drones cannot be operated due to closeness to airports, FAA regs. Government too broke to fly a predator around for an election campaign. Kid couldn't shoot per a news article that he tried to join the rifle team in high school . Another news article said a cop saw him on the roof and the shooter saw him and pointed rifle at him. So he might have been rushed to shoot. Donnie is very lucky indeed. Feel bad for the families who lost their loved one at the event. What shocked me watching the video at the time it happened, were the amount of stupid people sitting there not taking cover. Sheeple.

Drones. Where were they? That was my first question.
That's the first thing I asked my wife, why no drone coverage ?? Only because I have 4 of them. Drones can stay in the air for up to 45 minutes or longer and have 4K-8K cameras.
Carry multiple batteries and chargers and you have almost unlimited air coverage. Seems like a no brainer to me.
I have been asking the same question. Also there is a bill in congress now to try and ban all DJI drones from being used in the US. The best drone manufacture in the world.

Security stopped at a sloped roof so I think drones are a little too advanced.

FC-45LC --> Good points / thoughts. The official paid U.S. group that is tasked with protecting the current and former Presidents and family members thereof has not done very well over the decades. From President Mckinley up to this current incident in Penn. on Saturday. At the moment (about 2:30 am Monday morning), it seems that the local Police/Sheriff in Pennsylvania have some "explaining to do". When someone is seen by average citizens crawling / climbing onto a roof near to the rally stage, but the local P.D./Sheriff did not "notice" the person crawling/climbing on a roof of a building.... something is NOT right.
