Well friend to prepare you must repent with all of your heart and confess your sins to the Lord. Repent means that you will change and turn away from those sins, never to look back. I love reading Psalm 51 which is a repentance psalm of David. Your record book in Heaven contains every record of every good deed but also every sin you have committed from birth up to this very second - once you repent of those sins, they will be erased and totally forgotten by God forever - he is so great and abounding in mercy. I also love reading Psalm 103 which is very encouraging and assuring of God and his ways.
Next you must pay the price - which is definitely not easy but do-able - Pay the price meaning denying your fleshly desires, taking up your cross, and following Jesus. Refer to Matthew 16:24-25 - His desires will become your desires and in that way his will be done through you. Refer to 1 John 2:17 ; Matthew 7:21 ; and Hebrews 13:21 - The will of God is that no perishes in hell but lives in Paradise with him. Doing his will of course includes acting in love and so much more. Refer to Galatians 5:22-25 - Doing his will is also spreading the good news about Jesus Christ to others which is found in John 3:16 - because every soul is destined for either Heaven or Hell but it is that soulsâ choice whether they want to take the broad path or the narrow path. Refer to Matthew 7:13-14. It wonât be easy of course because you choose to follow Jesus there will be persecution the in the end it is worth it and Jesus is just worthy to be praised. Refer to John 16:33

A lot is coming to pass and the book of Revelation is unfolding quickly before our eyes. The Lord is coming soon so holdfast to the Lord Jesus, read the Bible on a daily basis so it strengthens your heart and helps you to hold on to the truth, repent of your sins, and spread the good news to others

I really appreciate this. Practicing abstinence myself and being in a country where sex is glorified it can be discouraging at times. Also, the horning (cheating) culture in Trinidad is very heavy so I'm very mindful of who I let into my space. My relationship with God is progressing daily so I know my abstinence walk will not be in vain. His timing, not mine

Thanks for sharing this! Your story is very encouraging! Me and my fiancĂ© were together in the past had sex etc. we broke up for a year and some how God brought brought us back together. This time around we decided to save sex for marriage and took it as far as to not kiss each orher. I agree itâs hard, but I tell myself this is bigger than us..Gods purpose and a lot of prayer has helped us a lot. This time around we are in a much better space.. we have been going strong for a year now and we will be getting married next month!

I've always been a Christian but when I was younger, I struggle with lust and had fallen several times until I felt so dirty and disgusted of myself and I decided to practice chastity. I've been celibate for almost 3 years and it wasn't easy but doable with the grace of God. I love myself better and don't feel dirty and disgusted of myself anymore.

Yes Lawd! I'm in my single season and have been abstinent for a loooooooonnnnnnggggggg time! It is definitely a struggle, but I know it's what God wants. It's not just about sex, more about self-discipline. It's been about mind, body, and spirit. Prayer is definitely KEY!

Yes ladies stay strong. I have been abstinent for 25 yrs after having sex for several yrs. I fell within the first couple months...I felt awful like the Lord watched me do it. You guys definitely helped to renew my resolve. Iâm 32 (not a virgin) but I decided to abstain. I dated and gave in once and felt so dirty and just so sinful I stopped seeing him. Dated others afterwards who either said youâre going to give in or pretended like they were cool all the while all they did was talk about sex. Iâm hoping to meet my husband who is also on the same journey but if it doesnât happen Iâm working on letting God be enough.

This is so true. I have been celibate almost 7 years now, and I did it because I was so tired of that hollow feeling that came whenever I thought I possibly found a partner and in reality it was just a sex partner. I enjoy sex and when you really enjoy sex and you go into a sexual relationship too soon it blinds you. The only way I felt I could start to examine what it really was I wanted and needed out of a relationship and out of life was to go cold turkey.

I dont know how I stumbled across this page, but God knew. As I start my treck with online dating đ after being celibate for 25 YRS/single for many yrs. Im not a fan of this way of doing things, but trying to stay open to the Lord and not my ways. This was an encouraging reminder that I just had from the Lord the other day...I will NOT have to compromise who I am for a man. Trusting God in this process is key bcuz if I look with my own eyes I get discouraged and frustrated. Yall are younger than me but its still the same God speaking to us all.
