Army Packing Hack: How to Fold Your Socks in Pairs (Double Roll) - Ranger Roll Basic Training

- Here is how you can easily and neatly fold your socks, two at a time. This is a modification of a single-sock roll that takes less space. Also, it will be easier to find matching socks, too. Very useful if you're just organizing your drawers, or if you're packing for a trip.

@Ray Francis: I remember our DI’s teaching us to make a PT Roll. Basically a T-shirt, PT shorts, underwear, and a pair socks which was used to roll it all together. It kept things neat, but it wasn’t exactly a space saver.

My dad used to be in the Military back in the 80's. He thought us these ranger rolls since we were kids and it has really helped. People are often surprised that we had only one suitcase each to carry on a long trip.

Thank you ever since getting with my fiancee I have go from being able to move at the drop of a hat to having more clothes than I have ever owned. Except I only have 1 drawer for my stuff as I moved in with her. All I needed at first 🤣🤣🤣 now I need less than 1 drawer.

I think this is a great tip for short term storage where space is at a premium. Rolling the socks up so tight put a lot of stress on the fibers and elastic. This will shorten the life of the socks. I think the modified square lock is the best, where the last step is what was done here--wrap the sock cluster using the stretch fold-over. But you can do it such that there's not a lot of tension and yet the socks will stay together. They also fold up flatter.

I don't quite understand how you would wrap them without tension?
4 in the morning and I came across your videos some how. 😂 I always pack spare cloths just in case, at least 3 days worth, i should be able to fit a weeks worth now. The pants are a bit of a pain though. Practice makes perfect.
Takes 20 times longer but takes up 1/2 the space.genius!

To those struggling with these ranger rolls. I first saw this video this morning...I now done all my blankets, sheets, socks and underwear ...And I got one hand!
