    Get a STICKER MACHINE - This is the brand of sticker machine I use although my exact model is no longer available. They make smaller machines too and you can purchase refills of your adhesives.

    I got my ScanNCut 350 a few years ago and never really used it. My stumbling block was knowing the number setting for cutting different paper products. I had always used dies and stamps for my card making and was comfortable with those tools. Hence, I lost interest in my ScanNCut. You have opened my eyes to the power of it and I feel encouraged to give my machine another look even though I only have the 350 and will still face the cutting depth questions. I don't want to invest additional money in a newer model at this time so I hope you continue to teach not only your model # but also help us older model people to learn how to use their machines. Thank you for all of your hard work, Best Regards.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  Před 4 lety

      Roya, thanks for your comment and your Brother ScanNCut thanks you as well. I use these three blade depths most of the time. I use mainly Stampin' Up! products but you will figure out the best depth for each thing you are cutting. I have 4 courses related to your model too so you can delve deeper.
      Designer Series Paper = 3
      Whisper White = 4
      Card Stock = 5

      Cindy, thanks for your comment. The SDX125 has the smoothing feature. I rarely use it. I will show it sometime but you don’t need it for this. You can make these right now using your ScanNCut CM series. I used the SDX but didn’t need any smoothing.

      You can access the web based version from your phone but it is not made for that and therefore, it will not work correctly. Then downloadable version is only for PC and Mac computers and can't be used on a phone.

    Hi Kim, I'm trying this technique on the March 2022 Paper Pumpkin for the mountains and leaves on my CM350 without any luck. I've placed the images upside down on black but they stay as lots of individual pieces and won't weld. What am I doing wrong?

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  Před 2 lety

      Sherrie, I would work with the largest embellishment first because the larger it is, the more forgiving it is. If something is small, try adding an outline distance. This machine is not for detailed items. Metal dies are much better for that. Also, Paper Pumpkin refills are very cheap and therefore, I wouldn't even bother trying to make more that are the same. If you wanted to make some in different materials, it may be worth the effort but I highly recommend the refill.

    I got a scanning mat for the SnC quite a while ago when I got my CM350 and found that it works really well. I don't have to stick my item down and nothing gets caught.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  Před 4 lety

      Thanks Cindy. I just wanted to reuse my stencil and didn't want glue oozing out. I lightly attached stencil so it would get stuck in ANY machine. The black card stock was the part actually stuck onto the mat. I've used Scanning Mats too. I just find them useless because you can't cut with them if they are a dedicated scanning mat. All of my scanning mats ended up as cutting mats. I'm glad you like yours and keep on using it just for scanning. I made that mistake of cutting mine and so that is why they became useless.

    • @cynthiahull3780
      @cynthiahull3780 Před 4 lety +1

      @@PaperedChef I wrote my comment before I saw your explanation of why you don't use a scanning mat and it makes good sense. I purchased my scanning mat to scan photos and other items that I was afraid might be damaged by being stuck to a regular mat. Since I already have it, I sometimes use it for situations like this. I used it to make more cardinals with the Christmas PP kit.

    • @PaperedChef

    what adhesive did you use to put down the images on black?

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  Před 4 lety

      I just attached it very lightly with my ATG. You can use snail or any rolling adhesive. Glue tends to roll or ooze out. The edges will stick up a bit and get caught. That is why I used the acetate on top to get a better scan. It is not necessary if you adhere it well. Thanks for watching.

    I have been watching a lot of your videos today. This video shows Direct Cut and Direct to Cut Data. I have been trying to get an image that I saved to my machine using Direct Cut to Data. When I come back to that file I want to make a layer offset line to .04 and it won't allow me to do that. I assume you only can do that in Direct Cut. I have a CM350 not an SDX125.
    Please let me know if that is correct. I have 6 copies to make and really don't want to fussy cut.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  Před 3 lety

      Judy, when you use Direct Cut, you use an Outline Distance. When you use Scan to Cut Data, you use an Offset Line. That’s with the SDX models. CM models don’t have that. You can always use the Canvas Workspace software to do create the offset.

      Sorry about that Susan. In all of my time as a demonstrator, this has never happened to us before. We have never sold out before the subscription time ended so I didn't realize it wasn't letting you sign up for June yet. The In-Colors are so popular. You can still purchase a Pre-Paid subscription at my store and then save it until later. The benefits of Pre-Paids are that if you get a year one, you get a month free and then earn Stampin' Rewards (10% of your order). The other option is to wait until after May 10th to subscribe and then you will secure your "spot" for June and you will not be billed until a month later - after the 10th of June. www.paperpumpkin.com/en-us/sign-up/?demoid=2166056

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  Před 4 lety +1

      Linda, I think I know what happened. Your outer paper was selected. When you use Scan to Cut data, you need to select the 2nd option which is the inside and outside lines. Then, after you retrieve the data, delete the outside rectangle by selecting it and trashing it. If the insides are not there, try it all again by first moving your design to another part of the mat first.
