How to Ride A Motorcycle

Remember the line in the movie ‘Risky Business’? “Porsche, there is no substitute”. Well, same holds true with Shoei- there really IS no substitute.
Very good. I have the same issue with my C-3 Pro. I'll give it a try.
Great idea, well done for that because I’m going to buy a c5 and that’ll be my first thing to do👍👌
Thanks so much for the tip and gpod luck to you .clever .
Not my idea but thanks
Great idea
Thank you
By the way great video thank you
Thanks
Rubber bands! Try them to inexpensively keep the shield open. I listen to satellite radio and make phone calls without issues on my C4 Pro. Get rid of those attachments.
Found that an O ring works well
Melissa's Motorcycle Adventures had this solution posted 2 months ago.
Although I purchased a new C5, my visor doesn't close like yours at speed or on bumps. I've tried it fully open at 75MPH on a very bumpy, under-construction I-69 without a problem.
The visor also closes completely without the problem others seem to have with it sticking a bit open when closed.
Maybe Schuberth fixed the visor recently.
I have heard there is a version 2 visor now.
take it to the dealer they will fix it for you for free
How is the C5 for wearing prescription glasses?
Neat solution. May I suggest you post the O Ring size for this fix? Personally, when shopping for a modular last year, I found I preferred the Neotec II to the C5 and went with that.
Will add that in the description
I’ve had a C2 and C3 Schuberth helmets in the past, both had ‘wear’ issues with the visor mechanism, that meant the visor dropped fairly soon after first use. Didn’t particularly bother me too much, although could be annoying at times. My BMW helmets (made by Schuberth) have never suffered from this issue.
@@Muckyfellrunner it did it from day one. But the helmet was wonderful comfortable and quiet too. I ride almost all the time with an open visor my BMW R1250RT has a great windscreen.
However, for my shaped 🍉 it is the most comfortable modular.
@@CorgiDaddy Yes Schuberth changed the fitment with the C5
Thanks for the video. How are the O rings holding on?
@@lorencing had the O rings almost a year they are still holding up well
Hi Steven. Thank you very much for the video. Do you have the link of Amazon, please?
Sorry vender isn't in business anymore
Thank you for your answer and I am looking at Amazon as you did buy it. Back on the day you wrote the outer ring is 20 mm. So how many millimetres should be the inner circle?.
Thank you for your answer in advance
Because in your title, marks 22 x 2
@@BMWworldstickers yes mm.
Did that prevent the rear of the visor sealing correctly with the top rubber thus increasing noise ?
No not at all
Steve - I just bought a second C5 and want to purchase O rings for both. My question is what are the inner and outer dimensions of the o ring? When you say 20 mm is that the outer size or inner? Thank you!
Outer size but make sure it's a thin one
I regret to buy the C5, after many years of wearing Shoei helmets (GT Air, Neotec II) with a new Tiger 900 I decided to buy a new helmet.. what a waist. 1.- Problems with the visor, 2.- Llastic lock mechanism , 3.- Internal padding, very very poorly filled, 4.- Comm, is a special Sena, in my other helmets I have Cardo,... difficult to pair. A totally waste, and its not cheap. I when back to Shoei
I love my C5 had Shoei before but each to Thier own
Haha I expected the solution to be the Shoei gt air or something 😉
My other helmet is a GT Air II
@@stevenjonestriumpht1207 Ooh nice. I’ve been looking recently, which do you prefer? Low wind noise is my main concern
@@t-rex4211 the C5 has less wind noise
you genius.
Sorry not my idea I got from another CZcams channel
Schuberth keeps trying but always just misses the mark.
its a shame that you, a customer, have to find a fix for their helmet. Shame on you Schubert for designing such a shitty helmet. Not to mention how pricey the helmet is....
i bought the previous C4 Pro Carbon, but after watching a few videos on how bad the quality of this helmet is, i will never buy a Shubert again.
Well done sir on finding a solution.
I didn't find the Fix I stole it from another CZcamsr. I had used double sided M3 sticky pad. But the O ring works so much better
@@stevenjonestriumpht1207 I'm glad you found a solution, but considering the price and being a top of the range Schubert, I feel you shouldn't have to in the first place. If it was me I would have returned the helmet for a refund. Neotec 2 is a much older design, but still is being reviewed as one of the best modular helmets out there. Good luck and safe riding from South Africa 🇿🇦
@@zunaidkajee4540 Apart from the Visor issue I love the Helmet.
Do you really just said all that crap? LOL
It closes because why on the bell would you want to ride with visor up at 50-60 or 70 mph??? Makes no damn sense. If you want all the wind on your face just get you a 3/4 helmet and stop complaining. I’m sure they made this helmet (just like previous versions) to be quiet and light.
@@jegonzalez6524 Thank you for your kind words
This helmet is the worst I've ever owned.
I bought one, brand new.
The visor dropped by itself as soon as i left the shop, i later found out that the visor doesnt close all the way.
In general, when reaching out for service and warranty it just didnt exist.
A helmet that costs almost 700$ and the visor mechanism basically is a failure straight out of the factory. I got rid of it and will never buy a Schuberth again. They lost me as a customer forever.
Its just ridiculous that an owner like you needs to post a fix on CZcams for this helmet's dumb visor instead of Schuberth addressing those issues
I do agree but I still love the Helmet
@@stevenjonestriumpht1207 I loved it too, the interior quality was very good and the fit was also great. But when you reach out for service on a brand new helmet and never get a reply, you realize that this is a dead end, therefore I replaced it for a neotec 2.
@@yahel092100 I do feel your frustration. It shouldn't be that way
@@stevenjonestriumpht1207Yes, it shouldn't be that way.
Regardless great video and nice solution for whoever that is interested in keeping this helmet because it still leaves the factory with the broken visor mechanism
