Remember when Barbara got "fixed" after several years because her bloom generation was wild? Then they were like here's Nilou, she can do the thing we just took away from Barbara...
I mean it makes sense that was due more to a new mechanic being recently introduced, then basic camera controls, but never the less the whole Nilou released just around the same time as Barbara got `fixed` for what was literally the same reaction gag was a bit silly.
Which i would say a smart dev team wuld of kept the `bug` but create a way for Nilou to be `better` then that Barbara problem thru some other means like significantly higher numbers or something. Especially since she already would be locking your party to 2 specific elements basically and what not.
Barbara's Bloom generation was legitimately absurd though, and ignored all ICD's that virtually any other reaction was subject to. And Nilou does not generate nearly as many blooms.

I didn't use the beyblade thing coz I'm a mobile user and I'm not really that affected by the Neuvillette nerf. But the real issue here is that if Hoyo gets away with this now then there's a chance that in the future they'll do the same thing again to another character. Like go, "hey this character is too broken. Lemme just hocus focus send 100 primos and be apologize that we change this character way too late." I love Genshin Impact but if the game will continually be manage like this...I might fear that the characters I pull would lose their value just after a single patch after their release. Like, at least be lore accurate in the kits of characters who are clearly very important and very powerful in the game and not just disregard the lore to sell characters. Hoyo you got competition now so be careful.

I'm f2p and I'm in a more painfully hurt after i spend all my wishes getting C1R1 Neuvi,so hoyo just ruining his gameplay like this is just not okay. It feels like a freaking scam.

Neuvillette is the hydro dragon. He's as important as an archon! If you ask me, he's supposed to be the strongest hydro character in this game. Or at least on the same level as an archon, together with Furina. Having him being outdone by a new hydro character would be insane!
He's supposed to be higher than archons. Archons are below dragon sovereigns. So its ridiculous how hoyo just nerfed Neuvi a literal hydro sovereign dragon. The issue is not with the act of "fixing the bug" itself, but with the fact that Hoyo was aware of the bug yet did not release any information about fixing it. They let it persist for nearly a year, even after the character was re-released, leading players to believe it was normal to use this feature. Then, they suddenly fixed it without any warning.
The crazy thing is, is that it wasn't even a bug/glitch,it was just the camera sensitivity settings or DPI and now hoyo took away the fun part of Neuvi and now his gameplay is more boring then it already is.

It's not just the spinning they nerfed, but the range in general seems to have been nerfed. I was wondering yesterday when doing Spiral, why Neuvi wasn't taking out two enemies at the same time when their spacing usually isn't a problem.....and mine is C2 R1 but he struggled with AOE that's normally not a problem
This is frustrating because I'm not a whale (BP & Welkin) and I saved up across 2 banners to invest into him more than my other characters precisely because his AOE is so good

I don't use the spin to win, but after this "fix" normal gameplay now seems slow and laggy when trying to turn around while using the charge attack. It feels pretty bad to use currently.
As mobile player I get affected by this. You can does that quick by quickly drawing circle on your screen. Now it no longer work🗿

Me using a PS4 controller (with a slow camera sensitivity even on max) still getting compensation: I see this as an absolute win
(In all seriousness for those who did like using the Beyblade move, 8 months is way too long to “fix” it)
So i watched mulani gameplay and unless her kit is crazy i hardly struggle to believe she could powercreep neuvilette.
I think the reason behind the nerf is that mulani is very focused on mobility something that neuvilette hydro pump achieve easily with being able to rotate quick.
Now he shouldnt be able to do that so that mulani can sustain her niche but its really not that impactfull because everyone that plays neuvilette position themself by being able to see every enemy on screen so it really doesnt matter.
The only place that i can see this causing a problem is in waves content if the enemies spawns behind you but at worst you lose 1-2 seconds of dps.
This is basically a non existent nerf and neuvilette still remains the strongest dps in the game.

So you have noticed too. Her play style seems goofy/playful. I didn't see a range in her NA. Her shark attack on the other hand has AOE, which is infrequent. So unless she has some crazy multipliers, I don't think Neuvi is getting powercrept.
But this was still scummy on Hoyos part they should have said something after Neuvi's release, with the added note that it will be patched on some later version, so people spending money can know what they are getting into. On top of that it is literally false advertising, on character trial (two times) you got to experience 'free' movement, now months later you get a janky one🤷

The "Fix" was ridiculous. Neuvillette is the Hydro Sovereign. HE should be the most OP hydro character. Not some new character coming out in 5.0. Well... Knowing HYV, they don't adhere to lore in characters in reality.
I don’t understand, sure Hoyo wants to make their new characters look good so they can greedily make profit. So why aren’t they using Kinich? Kinich has proven to be way more popular than Mualani so he should be focused on. And later down the line more impressive characters than Mualani will be released so there is no point in trying to force making a unpopular character to sell
My inclination is to assume that a much larger part of why it came so late was likely due to internal discussion as to whether or not to fix it, or even properly implementing the fix without impacting other areas of the game, especially since it is something players enjoyed. Changing things like this (Comparatively minor, likely to impact other aspects of the game) rarely is a fast thing, and as someone who works in software, it is very easy for fixing things to get kicked months if not years down the line if it isn't considered a priority change.

the problem is that it affect normals players too. i noticed something was off yesterday i just thought that maybe it was because i didn't play him for a long time. having a low cam speed is one of the worst sensation.
I don't use the bayblade thing but im happy to see that a lot of people (Including important people like the VAs) are starting to go against hyvs about multiple manners. And personally this is TOTALLY to sell the new character better I hope the CN side won't pull for her to boycott them or something (No hate to mulani she's adorable)
Haven't tried their "fix" yet but I don't really use bayblade. If only a small amount of people are using this "bug" then it shouldn't even matter in the first place. I just want my attack to follow my mouse without delay. Is that too much to ask? The auto targeting system is already unreliable as it is. I just want my attack to hit what I want, when I want.

One way to show them we KNOW what they did it by skipping this allegedly powercreep character in the upcoming patch.
Even though it might not be a big deal to common people like us... But it obviously poses a threat as to if genshin did that to neuvillette it can also do that to others characters as well.. infact they even did that with Barbara... Before nilou got released... It was again not questioned much because no one really uses Barbara anymore... And also it's a 4* character which doesn't mean much to players with high AR and community... But if genshin decides to do something similar in future just for more profit then it'll definitely raise more hate among the community.. and given how genshin ignores the community... It's a serious issue.. and genshin devs must come forward and give compensation over this nerf...
Barbara's situation was a different breed entirely. Her Hydro application was nothing outstanding normally but she applied Hydro to every Dendro core. She basically produced infinite cores out of thin air. I hope i don't have to explain why this is game breaking.
And no, Nilou wouldn't have been replaced, because Nilou boost bloom damage and Barbara made a massive amount reactions. Besides, let's not pretend that Nilou's Hydro application was really good to replace Barbara.
That was an unintended bug that they didn't catch the first 2* years (because Sumeru released 2 yeas after launch) because Dendro didn't exist until then and they didn't forsee this happening.
I deleted genshin Impact last night probably try it again when the entire fire region is out but for now I don’t care for what they’re doing.

It doesn't really surprise me though that they did that. They just mark it as a bug and can probably get away with it. Though other gacha would fix it one patch while Genshin fixes it after 7 😂

She spins in her ult, and she spin much slower so that why, it’s not because of 5.0, the hydro character in 5.0 got leaked (for everyone) she has no mechanics that spin like him, so why blame her?
The turning speed nerf is going to affect more than spin-to-win people. Having the ability to turn on a time to face enemies spawning behind me was really useful, but now the capped turn speed has me concerned he'll stop firing before I can actually face my next targets since I only have him at C1. I am not pleased.
That Beyblade method isn’t even possible on all devices - I enjoy genshin on my PS4, and I was never able to spin around like a beyblade. It’s kinda weird they didn’t see the differences earlier. Fixing this issue is not the main problem - it’s the point of time they chose to tackle the issue, making it seem like a way to push the sales for the new character Mualani a little further.
And that sucks. A lot.

In my opinion, this was definitely a bug that needed fixing because it was only possible on PC with a gaming mouse that could scale up in DPI. They should've fixed it earlier, but I think it was more about not endangering his rerun than wanting to sell a new character.
Could be done on mobile too. And it is not a bug, just a bad designed skill. They should have fixed it a week after his release, not 8 months later, when a new hydro catalyst dps character is going to be released. For me it just feels like a scam, cause after such a long time, it felt like a technique or a exploit of the character.

They had a notice months ago about this anf that it'd be fixed eventually. Can't do the spin to win on console and not everyone on mobile could do it. Zeroing in one something that's exploited on one platform can take a hot minute to fix.
These changes actually affect everyone. Even in you in mobile you can feel it much slower to reposition his charge attack thus missing an extra damage
Tbh, the Neuvi "nerf" my only thing is maybe someone got a Seizure or epilepsy cuz of it. I know thats why some content creators dont show it as gameplay cuz it hurts to watch. So maybe thats the reason.
If it was on a big scale, I could understand. But if it's only 1 player in the entire world, or, let's say, 'just' 100 worldwide, I don't think it would be a considered dangerous enough.
Basically, unless that would have done a Pokemon Porygon episode 2.0 in terms of scale, I don't think it would have been noteworthy for Hoyoverse.
I mean, that Ningguang game lagging trick is far easier to reproduce, and with all the light effect going on, it would be far more dangereuse in the eyes of Hoyo, but they still haven't touched on that. So beyblade neuvi wouldn't be a problem for that reason you're using

Hoyoverse said they would cancel this "fix" and give 1.600 primogems in a sibsequent update. I personally always found this spinning thing unpleasant to the eyes and weord but at least they acknowledged changing it so far without a word was weird enough. You won guys
The issue is that the decreased rotation speed as a hole which prevents you from being able to even cover a 180° area
for me it's not about the "bug" of spin-to-win, I rarely use it on mobile, mostly in abyss 11-1 only. the real issue is on how they "fixed" it. they literally just slowed down his rotation speed, so high dpi mouse users won't spin to win anymore. the problem is it affected his normal gameplay, he no longer can chase enemies dashing left and right, that's a huge dps loss and don't say "just play kazuha", I won't play kazuha and never will, I don't hate the dude, I just don't want to pull for him. some people don't notice it cuz they are probably playing him differently, like using aforementioned kazuha trick of grouping enemies, but if you do not have a grouper, goodbye to that damage and get stuck in one direction just to not waste the team rotation.
and the other issue is, they fixed this "bug" but still won't fix the Xiangling and Fischl icd, they surely "fixed" it cuz of upcoming hydro character. Xiangling and Fischl is free or atleast you can get them easily, specially xiangling so they won't nerf them for sales, cuz people are still attracted to 5 star characters, but a 5 star character, they will, cuz they think people would pull for the next "powercreep" since they won't just overtune the next 5 star to make you pull for their cons.

This is probably just player backlash. This is the second time hoyo rollbacked a bug. First being Yae.
This is also the 3rd time Hoyo spent so long in fixing a "bug". First being Barbara's E having "abormal application" 3 years after release.
Even on phone he feels a bit janky to reposition. The movement is fine as long as he is charging but once the hydro pump starts you can feel the slowing movement. This was scummy on Hoyoverse's part. If this was a bug as mentioned by Hoyo, they should have said something after his release, with a note that it will be patched in the upcoming versions.

1:45 it’s impossible to collect data on HOW people use their character. And by “how” I don’t mean like healer neuvillette or something related to his build, but like if you’re using him with Yun Jin as a normal attacker or with Xianyun as a plunge attacker they can’t get data on that because they don’t know how you’re controlling your character. So that simply isn’t the reason they decided to nerf this.

Second, i don't think she gonna powercreep Neuvilette since his charged attack is so busted with AoE type
Third, the only one who success powercreep the archon is Kazuha to Venty
-Raiden is still at the top for Electro
-Nahida with her consistent Dendro apply and EM boost
-Zhongli with his Unbreakable shield, one of the reason many players losing the ability to dodge 😂

Idk people calll Neuvellette broken all the time. Him getting a tiny nerf like this is probably a good thing. They for sure want to sell their new hydro character but I also think devs got annoyed that having just one character made their "hardest abyss ever" easy. They dug their own grave with this one tbh.

The nerf is ridiculous. Now he can't even rotate fast enough for 180° frontal enemies. He used to wipe out around 180°-270° before. He rotates super slow now🦥. It is not about spinning, his entire range got nerfed.
This was clearly a bug from the get go and to pretend it was not even 7 months later is disingenuous
