      Aubrey I'm assuming the king home was owned by the church! As Martin Luther king sr was a pastor! And its customary for churches to provide their ministers with family residences!

      It's always been a national holiday which most likely means employers have a choice to honor it or not but I'm going to assume making it a federal holiday means u have no choice u have to honor it that's what I'm assuming but I could be wrong 🤷🏿‍♂️

    I had the privilege to visit there(the outside), his church, memorial, and the museum after my son's boot camp graduation in 2013. Before my flight back to Calif, I took the Marta there. I'm so glad I did.

      Since 1986 every state has been honoring the holiday... has it really changed anything that it has been ‘officially’ nationalized? I think it lends greater honor to the holiday... but, what has really changed? Other than a temporary renewed interest.

    Ok so we know the house is real but are the things inside the house authentic is the crib actually where he slept or is this just a depiction of what it may have looked like back then 🤔 if it's authentic great job if not then it's pointless going inside because if u wanna step back in time there's plenty of houses that have been around for ages u probably drive by or walk a few everyday some of our parents and grandparents still like in a house they purchased when they were younger
