Is there a reason you hold your hand so close to the emitter? When I practice this form, I hold it more center.

what source is there for any form. Is there like an official source for it?
No it’s interpreted differently by all groups. Some focus on real world martial arts or sword arts, some from the movies, some follow closely in the steps of the prequel trilogies stunt coordinator, there’s not proper official sources for them

Depends on who you ask. There’s no one right way to do any of the forms.
i mean i watched the theories on count's saber he's saber can extend or shorten the blade length so am just a bit curious on it

@@Man_SalYT all lightsabers can do that so I don’t think it’s a Makashi exclusive thing. But I’ve not versed myself in Star Wars lore for a while now I mostly do the irl choreography side of it

@@Man_SalYT kanan in rebels also does that in a training sequence with Ezra. Adjusting the blade length to his height. So I’ve always assumed it’s something all Jedi do as they grow. They can just keep adjusting the saber lengths as they get taller or smaller. I’ve personally never seen Anakin or dooku use that in combat in any comic, book or show
