      @@Cigarbawz Its one of the reasons Dooku choose it as his preferred fighting style, as he knew most jedi wouldn't be able to counter it or had become too reliant on soresu for defence which makashi hard counters (as seen in numerous fights between Obi Wan and Dooku, where Dooku just dominated him at every opportunity)
      Makashi is only countered by Shien, which Anakin uses, which basically relies on hard, fast counters and never relenting in the attack. Dooku was always on the defensive in those fights but his experience always prevailed. Untill it didn't.

    • @dartharaneus67
      @dartharaneus67 Před 11 měsíci +13

      A couple of points:
      1) Jar'kai is simply a dual wielding (one weapon in each hand) approach to combat. It can be combined with any lightsaber form but is usually associated with Form VI because Niman already specializes in dual attacks (Force + lightsaber). However, it has been showed combined with other styles such as Makashi (Asajj Ventress), Ataru (Ahsoka Tano, Starkiller) and ever Shii-Cho (Kit Fisto).
      2) Vaapad is not a spiritual form, at least no more than the others. It simply allows a Jedi to channel their own darkness (and that of their Sith opponent) right back against the enemy.

    Form 7 was actually Juyo and was similar to form 4 in it's use of acrobatics but it focused more heavily on aggression and vicious attacks. Usual used by the sith and famously by Maul not many Jedi used it as it somewhat went against their principles, Mace Windu designed his own version that he called Vapad and so far is the only know wielder of this style as he is one of the few force users that was a full jedi fighting on the side of the light but had managed to tap into and use emotion. This is why he would have been the perfect master for Anakin. The only other Jedi similar to this is Revan after he is returned to the light side as he still has all his knowledge of the Dark side.

      @lowestmoose5357 Před 8 měsíci +2

      Fun facts but slightly wrong, Maul used form 7 Juyo, one of the most aggressive and acrobatic forms, notably Mace uses his own variant of the form he named Vaapad however this is more of a state of mind than a full form as it allows the user to use their darkness without falling to it. This is what Anakin should have learned and why Mace should have been his master. Also the most common form among the Jedi was form 1 Shii Cho. But the Geonosis fact was right, and you aren't fully wrong as form 6 Niman was a very common form with no notable strengths or weaknesses, just not the most common. Fun fact Exar Kun used this form and it is a great example of how in the right hands it can be deadly. Hope you have a good day and may the force be with you.@@edgelorddragneel1142

      No worries dude :) and Juyo isn't purely Sith, it was just favored by them as it was very focused on attack, some Jedi used it but it was kind of frowned upon, in fact mace uses it and he is on the council. Technically there is no purely sith form or force ability, everything was available to the Jedi but they just chose not to use certain things that were too aggressive, like force lightning, even Plo used something called force judgement that was basically force lightning and was frowned upon for doing so. As for what Qui Gon said it's just a bit of phrasing saying he fought a unaligned force user, remember even though the Sith were presumed extinct there still were force users out there not aligned with the jedi. @@ChromedDomes As I said, it usually depends on where one is stabbed. Even with steel swords, if you’re not stabbed in a vital area there’s a chance you’ll survive. Though with steel swords, bleeding out is also a problem, and if you don’t cauterize the wound, you will die from losing too much blood. Not an issue with lightsabers since the wound would be cauterized by the Saber itself. Plus, in both Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith, both of which are still canon, being stabbed does kill you. And even some comics which were made during Disney’s run showed people dying instantly from being stabbed. It really does depend on where you’re stabbed. Though I doubt that’s a factor in Blade & Sorcery.

Everytime Anakin counters an offense by Obi-Wan, the move is blocked by the tight control of Obi-Wan. It was literally a war of attrition and focus rather than skill.

    Soresu is a style that usually permits the user to have a tight but neutral guard so you can easily redirect and block blows from all different angle. Keeping the lightsaber somewhat close to your body at its center. Not off to your side or above your head.
    Its weakness are mostly its ineffectiveness at attacks or making aggressive moves. You cant do powerful swings or combos. But because of your tight guard and defensive mode, soresu is a great style for deadly counter attacks in lightsaber duels but it takes alot of patience and good sense of timing to be successful.
    Counter attacks include short slashes and thrusts.
    Soresu is not effective against users who also specialize in counter attacks, short but precise thrusts and slashes like makashi.
    In the eyes of a makashi user, they can see through all the tricks of soresu. Makashi wins out because they can perform a lot more variety of lightsaber strikes while still keeping an eye out for sudden counter attacks. Its the reason why makashi is considered to be the best form for dueling.
    Djem so or vaapad are newer styles so its debatable to say which style is the best for fighting one on one.
