Plus some people say that secretly some Portuguese soldiers flew to England and fought as English soldiers.Portugal was neutral and couldnt join the war because of Spain. If Portugal joined the Allies Spain would join the Axis. If Spain joined the Axis Portugal would join the Allies imediatly. So Portugal and Spain made a non agression threatement where both would stay neutral during the war. Portugal wanted to help England on America's independence war, England said that they didnt need it, and then you lost.
