JURASSIC PARK: Dinosaur Canon and Lore (2 Hours)

- Jurassic Park has had a lot of canon and lore over the years and I’ve done comprehensive videos on Isla Nublar, Sorna and apocryphal unmade ideas. Now I go over dinosaur information both paleontology based and InGen clones from the movies. The history of Dinos like Velociraptor Antirrhopus, T-Rex, Spinosaurus, Brachiosaurus and more are all here in a video I had a lot of fun editing together. I hope you all enjoy!

Yes! There’s something about Klayton rambling for hours about Jurassic that I just can’t get enough of!
Same same
Agreed
I prefer a neat and tight 15-20 mins
It's like music
@@stephenraynes2148 lucky youtube bookmarks where you last left off 😂
Me to my 3 Year Old: "Okay, now pay attention. This is what school won't teach you."
😂
@@KlaytonFioritiBrother I’m not kidding. Camp Cretaceous is his favorite show and now he wants to know “all the Dino’s dada!”
Klayton, I'll say it, no on else will and I say it from my heart: *You've spared no expense.*
I miss these 2 hour long Episodes on JURASSIC PARK.
I’ve never really understood why the paleontology community dislikes Jurassic Park, when JP is responsible for creating an entire generation of paleontologists
Not all of them hate it. I know a few paleontologists that still love Jurassic Park. But there are people that genuinely dislike it yeah
Way I see it is that the paleo community is a bunch of snobs while the Jurassic Park community just likes dinosaurs because they're cool.
It's kinda the same thing with Halloween fans and Friday the 13th fans. Halloween fans are super uptight and act like Michael Myers is peak horror and that it's basically art. And then you got the Friday the 13th fans who just like watching Jason Voorhees go on a rampage. At the end of the day they're both just masked killers doing their thing and people like watching it. Same with Jurassic Park and paleo nerds, at the end of the day they both just love dinosaurs, only one side tries to feel superior over the other.
2 hours of Dino lore at 10:49pm?
Yes Please!
The day I read Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park after I saw JW Dominion, I started reading more novels and I actually enjoyed reading them. Jurassic Park Novel was a good read, but, Michael Crichton’s The Lost World, the plot of the novel was great and the best one.
Dominion suck but tge 2 Novel's Master
Wow, interesting take.
The fact I unironically clicked on a 2 hour long video of Jurassic Park dinosaur lore truly shows that I have run out of anything productive or entertaining to do.
Get a job.
I listen to long vids like this while I work out, sculpt, edit and clean, so as long as you multitask it's not a bad thing to listen to
Nice and amazing new Jurassic Park dinosaur canon video and it was pretty entertaining and really awesome and it’s definitely about to get wild with this big time.
Awesome callbacks to your older videos from 2017 to present day and it was classic and very nostalgic.
Great work and as always, Take It Easy And Life Finds A Way.
😂
Your my all time favourite Jurassic park content themed CZcamsr, keep up the good work Klayton👍
Ahhh yes!!! Mic quality whiplash!!! I LOVE IT 😍😂

Showing LOVE for my absolute FAVORITE channel period thank you for this because this is a perfect example of why I love your channel my friend point blank you've helped me understand the Jurassic franchise better than I ever thought I did. Thank You for your amazing channel and the research and work you put I into each and every video I truly do appreciate you. Thanks again and have a blessed day and weekend everyone. I'm Charlie Knight and I approve this message.
Excellent video. It can be kind of tough navigating your channel with the sheer amount of content how to look for specific types of videos can be tough. I appreciate these! I turned my back on this channel for over a year and it blew up!
Whether it's in the JP / JW franchise or in real life, Dinosaurs are truly fascinating animals.
I love these Videos! I could listen to you for hours talking about Jurassic Park. Thank you!
Agreed I could start watching this massive video all over again now
I love long form content and Jurassic Park long form content is easily some of my favorite! Thanks Klayton! 💕💕
Came across this channel randomly earlier today. This is the first vid of yours I’ve seen and I subscribed about 15 mins in. I am OBSESSED already with this series and your channel so thank you for starting me off on my new addiction
I’ve watch all the other one of these videos and they help me get through work
Thank you!!!! 🎉 I have been waiting for another one of these. I listen to your other lore videos while I’m at work or doing yard work lol If I’m not watching you play Trespasser
Yesss!! I’ve been waiting for drop like this!!!
YES! A 2 hour from klayton. My 4/20 MADE 🔥
I fall asleep to this, and your other videos help me study.
Thank you
Yay thanks for uploading long hour video I love it klayton 😊❤
I love and miss your ingen list videos, hearing them in this video was amazing 🥹
Man this was so fun to list to while was playing round with some things and wow it was great listening to Klayton talking about dinos the hole time.
God bless you man
God bless you too!
YESSS I was just wondering when the next lore video would be!
A two hour compilation video! Gonna be listening to this while doing some yard work. 😎
Fire video Klayton! I can tell just how much time u took on this, and man did it pay off!
Love your channel Klayton, been here for years.
i can watch these vids for hours on end, they are so good!
Been watching almost since you started keep it up
always look forward to these videos!
Great Video. Love your work I appreciate it very much 👋
I remember these dinosaur profiles. Really interesting and informative. Good compilation.
Bro knew I needed this today
Love these!
We need more hour long content, i always listen to your vids while working ❤️
Cannot get over the music choices Klayton uses for his videos.
Great video going over the paleontology aspects of dinosaurs comparing them to the Jurassic movie/novel counterparts I really enjoyed your previous videos on the islands and glad you did one on the dinosaurs thanks klayton and as always take it easy.
The other day I finished watching the one about Isla Sorna, and now I'm halfway through the one about Isla Nublar. I have to watch this one too. Thanks, Klayton, for the effort!!!!!
I’m glad you’re enjoying them! Thanks for the kind words!
Henry Wu himself said the animals would look much different if they used 100% Dino dna. They made the animals they thought people wanted to see.
2 hours video of JP, HELL YEAH
Klayton you should go over the game maps from trespasser and how different it was from film Sorna and the Dinos in it too
Yay more Jurassic Park content 😁
Ive always been a fan of the theory that the dinosaurs on isla sorna are evolving back into their more realistic forms. I never knew it was theorized all the way back during the JP 2 days. Furthermore, it was extremly eye-opening watching your video explaining the plot/framework for jp 2, adressing the JP3 raptors. I honestly wish there was a film briding the gap between JP3 and JW. That would have helped JP3 have an impact on the series. Its cool to pook at the quills on the JP3 raptor and think of how the series could have gone.
You’ve come a long way
Tremendous. Thank you
Now this is a long story of the Jurassic Park franchise
I love your dinosaur videos
After 40 years of studying dinosaurs... i never noticed until now how small/weak the bone structure is of a Triceratops above it's beak and around the lower horn... quite a big weakspot in comparison of the rest of the bone structure....
Sweet. I have two hours of work left and this video is two hours. 😁
Epically
This is a great resource on the Accuracy of the JP/JW franchise.
59:21 - 59:46 My head-canon is this - I don't see how there is any way of knowing what DNA you have until you clone it, so they must have cloned at least one of every prehistoric animal to then know what DNA they had found. So they must have cloned that croc. If you extract preserved blood from a mosquito, what reference points do you have to know what the DNA is from? Then there's considering the DNA is incomplete, who is to say that, once the gaps are filled with all sorts of other animals DNA, the animal that emerges was actually a specific dinosaur? So much has changed that, what was once originally DNA from one animal, once cloned, the resulting animal more resembles a different one than the original. Genetics is absolutely mind-blowingly complex.
I think they cloned the Croc.
Exactly what i love
Also I think they made the troodon was a hybrid because they did not want to have 2 diffrent species
Another like m8✌🏻
Hell yeah. Now that's a good last video before sleep.
The absolute greatest thing to bless my morning, ain't even religious but I can always appreciate klaytons attitude and views while giving us such truly engaging content for all these years. Stay awesome king 👑
Love the big al footage
7 YEARS OF DEDICATION DINO DUDE ❤
Loving video so far but just came to say about the Dilo in the movie (and I think the book) the one that is encountered by Dennis is mentioned to be a baby or at least is referred to being smaller than that of the others within the park!
Fun fact: the stego's tail is called a "thagomizer" because of a Far Side comic strip.
Question: Any plans to do a compilation video talking about the rest of the dinosaurs that appeired in Dominion and in the two animated series?
Woke up at 4 am to this playing.
I just think of them as Utahraptors. That made the most sense to me as far as their size goes.
i need a playlist of klayton reading the script 😭
I don't mind that JP and World established their iconic featherless, shrink wrapped look. It was cutting edge back in the early 90s and it's become part of the franchise canon.
What bothers me is that it's been 30 years and other films and shows _still use the same style of dinosaur depictions._
Good thing to fall asleep too
Just so everyone is aware, the Thagomizer term was coined by the Far Side Gallery, that comic isn't a reference to a funny name. It's a comic that invented a name for a funny thing on the end of a tail and some nerds ran with it.
Have you ever thought of opening a comunity forum? Like a Discord?
I used to have 2 actually. Maybe I could in the future but I’m not honestly sure.
@@KlaytonFioriti I think it'd be cool. Id love to talk with others that like your type of content.
43:22 Trike using gastroliths is less weird when I remembered its originally a Stegosaurus in the book, who dont have as impressive teeth or beaks.
YAY
Perhaps deinosuchus was apart of the Cretaceous cruise attraction of Jurassic World. It’d be fitting considering many semi aquatic dinosaurs like baryonyx and suchomimus were there.
see's klayton lore drop. *Happy t-rex sounds*
have yall ever thought the dilo's "venom" could have just been a byproduct of their stomachs, just throwing an idea out
The venom comes from its Throat, as you can see in Dominion
Yoooo. Im a dinosaur
Me too!
I love your vids, but gotta make a slight correction! It's 'Representative', not 'representory' - that's not a word!
I like the idea that some theropod dinosaurs could have been super smart like ravens.
Like imagine if you could befriend a T. rex the way people befriend crows and ravens
Id think a t rex could behave towards humans like a elephant, since we wouldnt be good food sources as we run shoot and are small in weight compared to a rex, itd be so cool to see a t rex interacting with us so like how male bull elephants chase us down and also considering both are actually pretty smart and i could definitely see a madman befriend a smaller tyrannosaur like albertosaurus 😂 i may have written too much but a man can dream
None often known is that just before Jurassic Park started filming a new dinosaur was found in the Badlands of the US and it was called Utah Raptor it was a right size overly large to be the new quote Unquote velociraptor Or the for the movie. jack Horner was the discoverer and he instantly told Spielberg Spielberg about it The Spielberg was like yes that's the size I wanted since it was still a quote Unquote Raptor the figure that gets stretched the truth by calling it a lasso Raptor which is about four or five times the size of a velociraptor in real life. so that's how we get the huge Utah Raptors and remember Jurassic world they were juveniles they were still like yearlings Haven't grown up from hatchlings.
I never noticed till now but the JP3 Spino doesn't even look like it would be able to walk or at least not well. Its tail doesn't look big enough or long enough to counterbalance the weight.
Also thanks for not doing the hatchet head thing for allosaurus...if wu wanted to recreate dinos with feathers maybe get rid of the frog and fill in the gaps with just bird an then crocodile in smaller amounts than birds since theyre the closest living dino relative since birds are being classified as actual dinosaurs now and not just descendants
Since the skin patterns for late American tyrannosaurs show scales for adults but the juviniles maybe having feathers they lost as they aged being a popular theory now gotta give crichton credit for being ahead of his time for the lost world rex babies
Ever wonder if Simon M was the same person in the new Spider-Man, and the marvel and Jurassic … world will connect in a weird multiverse.
No...
No
As cool as dimetrodon was, they didn't even coexist with dinosaurs. It's often cited that tyrannosaurus rex lived closer to us (65 mya) than it did to stegosaurus (150 mya) but dimetrodon was even more distant to stegosaurus (270 mya).
They're _so_ old that vertebrates had barely been on land (390 mya) for 100 million years before they appeared
The Mosasaurs was actually about 120 feet in Jurassic World, and grew up to possibly be 270 feet in Fallen Kingdom! I'd say that they're overestimations... But then again, the model hasn't been very consistent in size from jot only movie to movie, but also scene to scene sometimes...
lol if I wanted reality I’d go to a museum. I want a good Dino movie.
I think the problem with deinosuchus is that crocodilians haven't changed much since it was around 😅
Imagine you have this dinosaur park and there's just a big crocodile in one of the enclosures. Sure it's an ancient extinct crocodile but we still have big crocodiles around
*Deinosuchus
Pleb.
@@monstersandmachines you know what? You got me on that one
Idk but i feel like that there is something hidden in sorna still some dino
I'm confused on what he means by shrink wrapped...like their skin is more clung to their bone structure?
Nvm he said what he meant by it later in the vid than I had gotten at the time
Feather dinosaurs < the dinosaurs from the 90s
The way I understand it is that Jurassic Park’s dinosaurs were never truly the accurate representation of the real dinosaurs throughout history. They were hybrids due to them having frog and many other modern creature’s DNA. So while it’s interesting to discuss the differences and similarities of these Dinos they were never supposed to be 100% accurate I mean in lost world novel you have camouflaging Carnosauruses. Which I don’t believe to be supported anywhere. And of course the whole “vision based on movement” thing for Rexy. I think this is fine due to these dinosaurs again being like Frankenstein’s monster something that previously existed but a now twisted stitched together version. Which adds to the horror of it, like if these aren’t the real deal and yet they are still so dangerous imagine how much worse the real deal would be!
more dinosaurs
I really hope that the ultimasaurus never becomes cannon. I just think it’s so dumb. It would truly be jumping the shark, or the triceratops as it were 😂
Is that toro from camp cretaceous?
hilarious, for an animal named "toothless wing" to be given teeth by the film makers.
Lets bring back Corythosaurus back.
