This is the story of God's miraculous workings in our lives to bring us together. It is the story of our friendship, courtship, and engagement. We hope that it inspires you to love God more. We also hope it challenges the way you think about the way that God works in relationships.
This video was created by my sister Heidi to show at our wedding reception. We decided to tell our love story while we showed the typical slideshow with photos from our lives and relationship.
We are firm believers in the God-centered relationship model that we call courtship. We believe that emotional and physical purity before marriage is something that has been tragically lost in our society. We have a heart to have our culture restored to a place where God-centered relationships become the norm. ~Erik & Amber
UPDATE: July 2022 - We've been happily married for over 10 years. We have four children, ages 4 through 9. We're thankful that we waited on God's timing for our relationship.
10 years later I still type "Erik & Amber" in the YT search bar, fills me with so much hope and reminds me that God is writing my love story

I'm married to my third, solidly Christian husband, and am over 70. Having been widowed twice, I wasn't sure that I would ever remarry again, but God worked amazingly to bring Jim and me together when we had never even met before! (God did the same with my previous two husbands -- we didn't even live in the same area). I'm so grateful that Jesus prompted me to be happy as a single woman, whether never-married or as a widow. I realized that "God would be my husband" as it says in the Psalms. He is enough, no matter our marital state is at the moment.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

I'm 66, and my husband is 64. This is not the way things worked for us because when we married we were not serving the Lord at all. I got saved a year into the marriage. It's a long story. But 3 yrs later he finally got saved. It truly is a miracle we are together. But God works all things together for good to them that love the Lord, and are the called according to His purpose.
Y'all's story has really challenged my way of thinking in regards to relationships. I have long-held the idea that if you are following God's will, things will progress smoothly and with clarity. Y'all's story is another example of how God's way is often hard to understand yet better than what we could ever plan for ourselves. Thank you so much for sharing your story.

I wish I would of waited for God's timing I rushed into a marriage with a man I wasn't meant to be with we had 3 beautiful children but our whole marriage was toxic and didn't glorify God we are in the process of getting divorced..this gives me hope that one day I will fine the man that God has for me ..please everyone keep me in prayer thank you and God bless you

brother, in this day and age where the type of dating stuff is going on, even among Christians, hearing your guys' testimony is a blessing. Courting, keeping biblical principles, the involvement of the fathers, the way they led things and such, is great and much needed today.

Father, I pray that I wait for your timing. No matter how hard it may seem. This is just beautiful, in all regards. This shows me more that being completely devoted to you leads to a love life that is better than anything we could seek on our own. Praise Jesus for this beautiful testimony and showcase of his faithfulness

I watch a lot of testimonies about how god writes love stories and this one is the first where I heard so much of the families involved. What a blessing to have family’s that are firm in Christ to help bring wisdom and guidance along with waiting upon the Lord.
I also am seeing that these testimonies don’t always go as we would imagine. Which is an instant knowing and for things to go smooth. Praise God for your testimony!

By the time I'm writing this I've shed 10000000 tears over this matter. I've even told God that I wish He would tell me it's not going to happen and then I would move on. But God time after time, after time and way to many more times keeps giving me hope.
Whoever reads this and believes in Jesus Christ as his LORD please pray for me. At times it hurts so bad and even as I'm writing this tears are coming out of my eyes. But even though the wait feels endless, God's promise will be fulfilled because He has said so. And I believe Him.

Indeed, God is faithful to his word and his timing is perfect. He doesn’t go against his word, he doesn’t deny what he said or forget what he said. HE IS GOD♥️🙌🏽.
Love this! These are the stories that need to be heard. Too often we only hear about toxic mating and dating stories and it’s passed off as the sole norm. I already know it’s not but sadly quite a few believe this.
There’s people out here right now that would scoff at you guys and claim that what you guys have is “corny,” not reality oriented, and whatever else they may say. I personally think that those people are just projecting and would be jealous of the story you guys have. It’s sad because the root of it is that they don’t believe that they are worthy of having this type of story. They think the best they can do is get a bunch of partners and have a horror story to tell at the end of it. That’s very tragic. When I run into people like that I just shake my head and keep it moving because I know for all the bad relationships out there there’s also plenty of good and Godly one’s. The thing is that we just don’t hear enough about it. Makes sense though as we live in a worldlyy system.
In any event, much kudos for sharing and may God continue to bless you guys and your marriage vocation. I aspire to have what you guys do and if it’s God’s Will I’ll surely get it. God bless!

I am a 38 year old man, not sure what my life will end up. Fear that it will end up worse than I have it, and I desire this kind of a relationship, yet I don't know how effective it could do for me. In every Christian relationship, I hate to envy them. For they live happier lives than many do without God.

God knew I needed to see this. I was told someone wanted to pursue me but I knew I wasn't ready. So, that is what I told him. It has been so hard to be patient and know God has a plan. I am so happy for the two of you, and I am glad that you have told your story. It encourages me to remember that if something really is God's will, it will happen. Even if there seem to be obstacles in the way, God has placed those there for a reason, for us to grow spiritually and to gain the wisdom we need before entering into marriage. I understand that each and every trial He allows, there is a purpose in it. Amber mentioned the scripture Proverbs 16:9 that a man plans his way but the Lord directs his steps. That is SO true! We need to put God first in EVERYTHING we do (Matthew 6:33; Proverbs 3:5-6).
I also LOVED and agreed with Amber and her family when she came to her parents and they prayed together about God's will regarding her and you! I love that they waited on God to move, waiting to see if you call her dad. That is so awesome! Wait on the Lord to move! He is the One who knows best!
God's way is always best. He knows our future because he is already there. He knows what's good for his children. So all who are still single let's not rush. Let's wait for God's timing. His plans for us are surely good.

I have been praying to God for a husband for almost 10 years. The years passed by and I am still single. They're days where loneliness takes over I just get so upset. And times where I even doubt that God has someone good for me. Part of me can't imagine how God can have something good for me when I doubted him so many times. But when I lose hope and feel very discouraged I find myself coming back to this video. What an amazing testimony that brings me to tears. This video keeps reminding me of God's love and kindness.

I'm watching this 10 years later. I thought marriage with a God chosen man will always go smoothly, but it's not in all cases. I'm amazed. I myself have been going through such a hard time of having to be separated from the man i thought had all the qualities i wanted in a Christian spouse, because of his family pressure. I don't know where God is taking me, but I trust in Him.
