Hi Sarah, great questions! Before I knew Ross was my husband and during the time I was coaching him and speaking to him over the phone, my mom had spoke to him over the phone with me and prayed for him. She wasn’t as concerned because she has faith and experienced God do crazy things so that was encouraging. My siblings were a lot more concerned. I was afraid to tell them but even that was a move of God how that unfolded. They also knew my history of God doing crazy stuff in my life and where I came from so once I finally told them that Ross was my husband, they eventually came around. They were just concerned as any family would be when you tell them God said your husband is a homeless drug addict but God moved and softened their heart. I talked about this in a recent interview I did on a Facebook live with Tammy Rice. If you go to my Facebook, you will see it from a week ago. For Ross’ family, they were shocked. It took more time for them to process and understand as well as the reconciliation journey between Ross and his family. But God definitely grew their faith. His dad had been praying on his couch at night for years for God to help Ross so God using me to do it was God answering his dad’s prayers. He couldn’t believe it at first but there were many conversations and many opportunities to minister and share God’s love, His ways, His grace with them for them to grow in faith and now God restored all their relationships and it’s just so beautiful to see the love that’s there now. As for the healing journey as a married couple, we are still in it. In the beginning of our relationship, I was doing a lot of Christian life coaching with him which is neat to think about because when I met him, I didn’t believe in myself as a life coach even though I had been coaching since 2016. He is my greatest testimonial of my God-given coaching gifts and now in 2024 I am following my coaching dreams full time and have my own office. So that’s how it was in the beginning but over the past 3+ years God slowly began to switch our roles, most notably when we hit our 3 year mark. I had been the provider during our whole marriage but when God called me to go after my dream of coaching full time and leave my job, he was also calling Ross to rise up as the head of the household and provider in a way he hadn’t done before. The year before this happened, God called Ross to start his own Landscaping business so it took a year for Ross to grow and his business and at 3 years, have a role reversal. I made a video about this on my channel called “3 year anniversary- Tables have turned.” All these things caused us to do a lot of inner healing work and it was not easy by any means but lots of coaching and lots of support with God made it possible. We are still on this healing journey. We still have a lot of areas we need to work on in our marriage to grow and heal. We just signed up for marriage counseling to help us in some of these areas. We have both helped each other heal so much by being conduits of God’s love for one another and knowing we are both from God for each other has created a sense of safety, peace and commitment in both of us towards each other and that in itself has been super healing. Big contrast to past relationships so if you aren’t married or with the one God has for you, I encourage you to wait on the Lord! God knows who you need and when the time is for yall to meet. How does one experience God's healing sexually before marriage? How did you deal with shame after sex? What aspects of sex does one need to talk about during courtship apart from what we are not doing before marriage? How do we best prepare for the first night after the wedding?

I had decades of sexual abuse in my past so I got healing through their book/ministry and then lead groups to help others find hope and healing for 5 years. Lots of healing came forth being in that space. To break shame, I opened up and shared with others. Shame keeps us hidden so bringing it into the light will help to break that partnership. Choosing who to share with is very important. Find safe people, trauma informed or who have had their own healing from sexual trauma in christ is helpful. You can always go to journeytohealministries.org to gain resources and healing if you had sexual abuse in your past as well. For what to share during courtship regarding sex, I wouldn’t share too much unless you know for certain God is saying this is your future husband. The only thing I would say you may consider sharing is if you’ve had any sexual abuse in your past so your future husband can be in prayer for you but really I wouldn’t be very open to talk about sex prior to marriage. Use your discernment on this one and ask God for His wisdom and guidance. That can be a private topic. Lastly, for preparation before marriage night, prayer was my go to.
