I’ll be honest, I hate that they changed the name of Tanjong Katong MRT. It was originally named Amber MRT station, and as a Brawl Stars/Genshin Impact player, I thought it would be cool for a game character to have an entire MRT station named both Ambers.
It was in proximity to Amber Road?
Of all things genshin impact? I dont want to have an MRT station named after a spy game, sorry
Finding an exit in a ikea is easier than finding Exit E in an MRT station
but why did u compare it with ikea
@@auratesanhandle2 cause ikea is bigger and an MRT station is smaller, but its still hard to find a bloody exit in an MRT station

With the loss of Service 10e, 14e, 55, 196e, 197 and 853M (46 and 137 can still be seen but it will go to TEL stations instead, while waiting for Bedok South Interchange to open), service 31 needs to increase service frequency with the removal of 31A trips.
They gon remove 55 and 196 and 197???!?!?
@@cdsung6527 55 and 197 is best to be positioned away from TEL stretch. Express variants will be cut.
31 and 196 is very hot in demand (31 is due to ITE College East and 196 is due to Marine Parade-Shenton Way in the past), that is why we are not changing these routes. Aside from that; 36 passes by Marine Parade for short while before going to highway, and this does not affect TEL Rationalisation. 48 also passes by Marine Parade first before going to Bugis and DTL, and there is still a need to have connection between Marine Parade & Bugis area, even with the amendment of service 197.
No i mean like is this your headcanon or has LTA officially announced this?@@TimothyMokCJ
@@cdsung6527 I chose bus routes with duplication, low demand and can be changed. Those with high demand (ITE College East or CBD) will be excluded.
I think 197 may be amended to Bidadari with its eastern leg replaced by 196.
134 could be extended to Bidadari with 853 also truncated there. As such, 853M becomes redundant.
966 may start from Gali Batu instead of Woodlands.
16 could see most of its high capacity buses removed.
Missed riding bus no. 10. Last time it used to stop at jurong east interchange, now a terminal near nus, haw par villa i think.
I see most of the stations are around 75-80% completed and expected to open up in the 1st half of 2024. Maybe around the month of may
Wow that must have been a long time ago when 10 went to Jurong east. No air con bus era I believe
10 went to Jurong, then shortened to Clementi and then Kent Ridge. It never went to Jurong East. 97 goes there.
@@andrewsitu3472 ah i misremembered and it was a long time ago. Late 80s 😀
@@igzord 10, 165 and 196 were truncated to Clementi.
197 was amended to Jurong East.
Remainder of Jurong Interchange routes are today spread across Boon Lay and Joo Koon integrated transit hubs.
Back then, there were O305DDs on 10. Once the LO2Xes entered service the O305s were all moved to HGDEP.
I remember taking 10 from the bus stop behind what is now NUS High School to go to Katong Shopping Centre. Could've taken 146 to HBF and then changed buses there but didn't think of it. Silly me. My house is served by 166 that absorbed 146.
Wow, Siglap station roadworks are already done
Seems like bus stop and outside stations area still under construction
Brother they almost done
Yeah, just the end parts for the TEL4 bits
@@glitchFan2428 if it open during March holidays it’ll be great

It seems that some exits of Marine Parade Station cannot be put into use until next year or a few years later.
Why

hope it opens by june
Wow
Last time it was all construction

Likely bus services 10, 36, 196 and 966 have a higher chance of getting their route amended next year. Bus service 853M higher chance of withdrawal next year too.
Only 55 and 197 have a higher chance of getting their route amended, whereas 10e, 14e and 196e will be withdrawn. For instance, 10, 14, 31, 36 and 196 are not affected. I don't know about 966 through, but it may not fall under TEL Rationalisation. 966 may replace 15 between Marine Parade and Eunos; while 15 can be further shortened to Eunos and have double deck.
46 will be amended to Bayshore MRT (Loop).
55: Changi Business Park - Bishan via Changi South Ave 1, Xilin Ave, ECP, Bedok South Ave 1, Upp East Coast Rd, East Coast Rd and Still Rd
137 will be amended to Bayshore MRT (Loop).
197: Bedok - Jurong East via Bedok North Ave 1, New Upp Changi Rd, Sims Ave/Changi Rd, Still Rd, Still Rd South, Marine Parade Rd
853M will be shortened to Lorong 1 Geylang and renumbered to 853 (where the same goes to service 66 in DTL3 and 171 in DTL2)
Marine Terrace will be left with these following routes:
31 (to Bedok/Tampines, the only one remaining since 197 blatantly follow TEL4/5, moving away will reduce congestion), 36 (to Changi Airport and CBD), 43 (to Upper East Coast, the only one remaining from Marine Parade to Bayshore since 55 gets amended and 853M withdrawn), 47, 48, 134, 150
Siglap MRT will be left with these following routes:
31 (to Bedok/Tampines, the only one remaining since 197 blatantly follow TEL4/5, moving away will reduce congestion), 36 (to Changi Airport and CBD), 43 (to Upper East Coast, the only one remaining from Marine Parade to Bayshore since 55 gets amended and 853M withdrawn), 47, 48, 155, 196 (196 has to keep like 65 for DTL3, and to provide connectivity to Nicoll Highway, Suntec City and Shenton Way, it is still popular).
Sungei Bedok and Bedok South MRT will be left with these following routes:
10 (from Tampines to Kent Ridge, still popular), 13 (from Upper East Coast to Yio Chu Kang, may or may not be popular but depending on 55 amendment), 14 (from Bedok to Clementi, still popular), 25 (from Ang Mo Kio to Upper East Coast; still popular due to the variety of DDs), 43 (from Punggol to Upper East Coast, still popular)
966 could become Gali Batu-Parkway Parade. Nobody would take bus from Woodlands all the way to Marine Parade anyway. Not to mention Woodlands to Bukit Panjang already has 187, 960 and 963.
Then 31 or 197 can take over the sector of 196 from bedok south Avenue 1 to marine terrace & marine crescent, then to parkway parade.
@@pata-hs1qr For bus service 197 I don't know whether it will shorten or keep. But I can tell you there is going to be a bus service next year to replace bus service 196. I think is bus service 10.
@@ngzy3561 196 is like 190. So cannot shorten.
Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL4) Upcoming in 2024.
What about Tanjong Rhu and Katong park
hardly take bus. Tanjong Rhu is walkable access to Stadium MRT, whereas Katong Park MRT is service 30.
Hence why I said not all stations are featured.
Tanjung Rhu got 158 go Aljunied MRT.
You are near my church
I hope it will open soon ,which date will it open 😂
No confirmation yet
@@glitchFan2428 I only know it will open around late 2024 I think
Better to delay the opening so we don't get the dreaded bus service cuts.
@@andrewsitu3472 east coast residents like me cannot wait for the stretch to open
@@OwenLaw-lu7oq if you currently travel on Route 16 expect to see the double deckers disappear some time in the future once TEL4 is operational.
Prepare for bus services 10e, 14e, 36B, 196A, 196e and 966A withdrawal due to Thomson-East Coast Line Stage Four.
Only time will tell what they want to withdraw next
@@glitchFan2428 Noted thanks Maxson 😊👍.
966 is a very useful route. While TEL cuts through the city centre, 966 goes around it to head to Eunos and Marine Parade. Saves a lot of time. Hope smrt doesn’t cut the route.
@@averageuser2027 Is Land Transport Authority and Tower Transit. Bus service 966 just shorten to Eunos Bus Interchange is better as this enhance connectivity to transfer any bus services along Jalan Eunos.
@@averageuser2027 even if it does I think it would start from Gali Batu instead of Woodlands. And it's TTS who's responsible not SMB.
Open soon
